    Teaching objective

    By the end of section, students will be able to  

    (1)Knowledge objective:  

    Students will learn how to talk about school life .

    (2)Ability objective:  

     Students will be familiar with topic of Back to school

    (3)Emotional objective:  

    Students will be motivated and prepared for high school learning.

    Teaching key points

    Help the students understand the video material and talk about their feelings about coming Senior high school life.

     

    Teaching difficulties

    Make sure that the students can understand Senior high school is a time of learning and discovery.

    Teaching Procedures

    Material analysis

    This lesson is about an interview before going in to high school life. The content is very simple and the key is that the teacher should teach the students how to describe their feelings before entering high school life

    Student analysis

    This lesson is aimed at first-year high school student .At this time, students are very eager for the upcoming high school life. Therefore, the atmosphere of this lesson should be very relaxed. The teacher should give them confidence

     

    Teaching Procedures:

     

    Step1 Leading-in

    Welcome students back to school. And ask them what they had done for the coming senior high school study. The questions may be like this:

    1.Are you nervous/excited?

    2.How will this year be different from last year?

    3.What subjects are you most interested in?

    Ask 2-3 students and talk with them.

    (Justifications:Ask questions to attract students' attention and make the atmosphere lively. )

     

    Step2 while-watching

    1.      Ask the students to read the table on page 1 and predict the answer
    2.      Watch the video and student will finish the exercise.

    (Justifications:To develop students' ability to search detail information.)

     

    Step3 post-watching

     Divide the students into several groups and ask them to have a discussion.

    They should choose a reporter and collect all the information of their group.Then a reporter be will invited to come to the front and report their groupsinformation.

    (Justifications:Exercise students' oral expression skills through group dialogues)

     

    Step 4 Summary and Homework

     

    1.Conclusion

    The students were allowed to summarize what they had learned today on their own, and the teacher added to it in time. Finally, the teacher emphasized the importance of the preparation for coming high school life.

    (Justifications:Help students consolidate what they have learned today, and at the same time emphasize the importance of the preparation for coming high school life)

     

    2.Homework

    Students were asked to write down what they were about to feel about their upcoming high school experience. And write down the plan for studying English in the new semester.

    (Justifications:To allow students to use the vocabulary and sentences they have learned today while planning for their future English studies. )
