    Paul Cézanne was brn in Aix-en-Prvence, France, n Jan. 19, 1839. His father, Luis-Auguste, was a successful banker. Cézanne received an educatin at the Cllège Burbn and studied drawing at the Aix Museum. After studying fr a shrt time at law schl and wrking in his father’s bank, he went t Paris t study painting. Then he ften returned t Aix. He wrked many summers painting the scenery near his father’s hme away frm the center f the city.
    During the Franc-Prussian War, in 1870, Cézanne fled t L’Estaque, near Marseilles. With him went Hrtense Fiquet. In 1872 their sn Paul was brn.
    Cézanne tk part in the first exhibitin f impressinist (印象派的) paintings in 1874, thugh he later brke with the impressinists. He was mre cncerned with structure and clr than with the effects prduced by light.

    Last mnth, the wrld’s ldest knwn message in a bttle was discvered flating (漂浮) in the Baltic Sea. It had spent 101 years lst in the cean! Last week, the message was sent t the authr’s granddaughter.
    A German fisherman named Knrad Fischer fund the brwn bttle near Kiel, Germany. He says he nearly threw the bttle back int the water after pulling it ut f a fishing net. Then he nticed smething inside.
    The bttle in gd cnditin cntained a Danish pstcard with tw German stamps, dated May 17, 1913. Althugh dampness (潮湿) had made mst f the writing illegible, the readable part f the message asked whever fund it t return it t an address in Berlin.
    Frm the address, researchers fund that the pstcard was written by a man named Richard Platz, wh was 20 years ld when he wrte the message. Then they began a search fr any living relatives. Sure enugh, they were able t find his 62-year-ld granddaughter, Angela Erdmann, wh still lives in Berlin.
    “It was almst unbelievable,” Erdmann said upn being presented with her grandfather’s bttle and message. “That was a pretty mving mment. Tears rlled dwn my face.”
    Erdmann never knew her grandfather, wh died in 1946, but says that the discvery f the bttle has made her want t learn mre abut him.
    The bttle will remain n display at the Internatinal Maritime Museum in Hamburg until May 1. After that, researchers will examine the pstcard and try t figure ut the meaning f the rest f the message.
    Until nw, the ldest knwn message in a bttle had been written in 1914 and was discvered in 2012 by a Scttish fisherman. It had spent nearly 98 years at sea.
