    Over the past year, I cntinued t receive any supprt that my parents culd give.


    At my graduatin tw weeks ag, I cmmented n the fact that my sister was wrking full­time as a waitress and asked if she was ging t use the mney t travel. She said, “N, I'm saving t g back t UC Santa Cruz.”


    This prbably sunded crazy, but I had cmpletely frgtten that she was saving up fr her wn cllege educatin and making a sacrifice s that I culd finish the last year f mine.


    I frgt because she never cmplained and actually had made a less than perfect situatin enjyable fr herself. Mllie has n idea hw much I respect her fr her quiet genersity and fr her ability t turn a negative experience int a psitive ne.

    In China, there are different kinds f trains. Mst trains have a letter befre the number, such as D62. Each f these letters has a meaning, s yu can judge_the_speed and cmfrt f the trains, whse numbers usually begin with T, K, Z, D, r G.


    But that day I chse the_train whse number was with n letter. That might be because this train was made befre letters existed in China! Nt really. But these trains are pretty ld. The lwer the letter f a train, the lwer pririty (优先权) it gets n the railrad_tracks,_s they are almst always late. That was the case fr me that evening as well.


    My train was suppsed t leave at 10 p.m. I sat in the cld, empty train statin watching my train's arrival time getting pushed back further and further. At midnight I still sat waiting and it was cld in the small statin. Hw eager (渴望的) I was t have a cup f ht_tea r even just sme ht water! And frtunately, it was als at this time that I experienced the kindness f the_Chinese_peple. One f the guards frm utside came int the waiting rm and saw me sitting there.
