There is/was no reason (for sb.) to do sth.意为“（某人）没有理由做某事”。

(1) go out of one’s way 意为“特地；格外努力”，后跟to do sth.。
他们想方设法为全体乘客服务。They go out of their way to serve all the passengers.她格外努力地学习英语。She goes out of her way to study English.

(2) make sb. feel at home意为“使某人感到宾至如归”。

3. Another example is that you’re not supposed to eat anything with your hand except bread, not even fruit.
except作介词，意为“除……之外”。表示把某人或某物从某一范围内排除出去，即except后的内容不包含在内。

(1) “find it +adj.+to do sth.”为固定结构，意为“发现做某事是……的”。其中it为形式宾语，真正的宾语时后面的动词不定式to do sth.。
