根据“My son was quite sad at first.”及“My daughter was more understanding, although she also felt sad to part with (交出) certain toys.”
根据第一段中的“Brad actually made that money himself. Each day, Brad took out the rubbish, did the dishes and walked the family dog.”
根据第二段中的“The problem was that Brad’s money disappeared just as quickly as he made it.”
根据短文中的“Brad bought hundreds of toy robots.”,“‘It’s a plan of how your money will be spent...’ said his dad.”,“They divided the money into several parts for snacks, toys, movies and books.”以及“At the end of that year, he gave away $80 to an old people’s home.”
根据短文第三段中的“To make money, many students looked for part-time jobs”和第四段中“Some made use of their talents by singing and dancing in parks or shopping malls... drew pictures and made paper crafts (手工).” 故选A。
根据短文第三段第一句话“To make money, many students looked for part-time jobs and saw how hard life was.”
根据上文“The most amazing one was when they had to exchange things worth (值……钱) thousands of yuan with only a piece of paper in half an hour.”和下文“From a balloon to a cake to a bottle of yogurt ... after almost 20 tries, we got an expensive necklace”可知“We learned how to persuade others.”
根据“ORBIS is a charity. It helps the people who can’t see.”
根据“One way you can help Detroit Public Radio is by volunteering your time during one of the station’s fund-raising (筹款) events, such as WDET’s Pledge Drive.”
根据“United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was set up on December 11, 1946 to help children in poor countries.”
根据“Anyone with an interest in helping animals out is welcome to join us”可知,如果Judy 非常喜欢动物,她可能对Taichung PAWS 感兴趣。故选A。

    Dear Sir / Madam,
Thanks so much for helping me. I’m Han Mei, a lucky girl who is studying in senior high school in Guizhou Province.
When I was a little child, my family was so poor that I had to give up my study and worked in the fields all day. I couldn’t read or study.
One day, a Project Hope officer came to my village and learnt about the conditions of my family. He wanted all the children in the village to return to school. Two days later, I entered a local primary school. At school, I study hard all the time and often get high marks.
I’m really thankful for the Project Hope’s help and I hope to become a teacher in the future. I also hope to help more children like me, and make the world a better place for them.
    Yours sincerely,
    Han Mei
文中正确使用了give up, work in the fields, the conditions of, return to school, get high marks, be thankful for, hope to do sth. 引导的结果状语从句说明了作者小时候家境贫困,无法上学的情况;study hard all the time 和get high marks 交代了作者现在的学习状态;文章最后用“hope to do sth.”
