Important Points Sing the foreign songs together. Use the modal verbs. Difficult Points Grasp some expressions: be able to, be full of. Teaching Preparation Pictures. Teaching Aids Multimedia, flashcards, pictures. Type of lesson New lesson. Teaching Procedure Ⅰ.Listen to the material first. Feel the charming of the music. Ⅱ.Ask the students to read the lyric line by line. Divide them into several groups to practice the song. Ⅲ.Explain the Chinese meaning of the song. Your translation must be like poem in order to take them to a beautiful situation. Ⅳ.Listen to the material for several times and repeat with it. Ⅴ.Work in groups. Talk about the questions: What do you usually do in your spare time? How do you usually go there? Why? Talk about your recent journey to the class. What gave your most expression? Ⅵ.Study the text. Ask the students to read the text and fill the blanks in student book. Read again and underline the important sentences. Study the language points: This world is always moving.世界总是在前进的. be always doing意为“总是做某事”,具有一定的情感色彩. 如: 1.My father is always smoking.我爸爸总是吸烟. 2.He is always playing computer games.他总是玩电脑游戏. 现学现用: Li Ming is always_______ others. A.to help B.help C.helping D.helped 答案: C. 2.Everything seems to be getting faster, too.一切似乎也变得更快了. (1)不定代词everything当主语时,谓语动词用单数. 如: Everything is growing in spring.春天万物生长. 现学现用: Everything ______ to have wheels, engines or wings now. A.seem B.to seem C.seemed D.seems 答案:D. (2)seem动词,意为“似乎,好像”短语:seem to do, It seems that +从句,seem+ adj. 如:1.The boy seems clever. = The boy seems to be clever. =It seems that the boy is clever. 男孩似乎很聪明. 现学现用: The old man seems_______ poor. A.be B.to be C.is D.being 答案: B. 3.In the1700s people invented the steam engine. 在18世纪初人们发明了蒸汽机. invent动词意为“发明,创造” invention名词“发明” inventor名词“发明家”. 如: Doctor Wang invented the machine.王博士发明了这种机器. 4.The steam was able to power boats and cars.蒸汽能够给船、汽车提供动力. (1)be able to 意为“能,会”相当于can,但be able to有各种时态.如:am/are/is able to, was/were able to, will be able to等. The girl is able to play the piano. =The girl can play piano.女孩会弹钢琴. (2)power 在此是动词,意为“给…提供动力”;名词“能力,体力,智力”. 5.It's good for my health and for the environment.它对我的健康以及环境有益. Be good for…对…有益. 如: Vegetables are good for our health.蔬菜对我们的健康有益. 现学现用:Playing ping pong is good_______ our eyes. A.to B.at C.for D.with 答案: C. 6.My favorite type of transportation is the bicycle. 我最喜欢的交通工具是自行车. favorite即可作形容词,亦可以作名词. (1)adj.最喜欢的. ——What's your favorite sport?你最喜欢的运动是什么? ——My favorite sport is football.我最喜欢的运动是足球. (2)n.最喜欢的人或物. His favorite is playing soccer.他最喜欢的事情是踢足球. 7.It's fun to ride a bike.骑自行车很有趣. 动词不定式做主语,常用it作形式主语,而把动词不定式放在后面避免头重脚轻.如: It is good to read English in the morning.早晨读英语很好.在以某些表示人的品质、特征等的形容词(如: kind, good, nice, wise, clever, polite等)作标语时,不定式前可用of短语,用来说明动作的执行者.如: It's not polite of him to speak to old people like that.他像那样对老人说话不礼貌. Summary: Today we learn a song. After a piece of music, we feel a mother's love. Mrs. Dinosaur's voice is very interesting, which becomes the modal of some students. We deal with some useful expressions. Encourage students to make a survey about the old transportation. How did our grandparents go to a big city in the old days? How long did it take?
