    设计说明
    本课时学习有关电影影响人们的情绪的文章和定语从句。教学时通过给学生展示各种电影让学生预先感知文本内容;然后引导学生完成不同的学习任务, 让学生充分理解文本内容, 然后复述课文, 输出通过阅读获得的文本信息, 提高学生的语言运用能力;通过完成句子和朗读Grammar Focus里面的例句, 引导学生总结定语从句相关用法;通过对应练习, 检测学生对定语从句的掌握情况。
    教学目标
    通过本课时的学习, 让学生达成以下目标:
    1. 知识目标
    (1) 掌握本课时新单词及短语: stick, down, dialog, ending, documentary, drama, plenty, shut, superhero, intelligent, stick to, plenty of, shut off, once in a while。
    (2) 掌握重点句子:
    ①What do you feel like watching today?
    ②When I’m down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me up.
    ③Laughing for two hours is a good way to relax!
    ④…I’m too scared to watch them alone.
    (3)学习定语从句。
    2. 能力目标
    能运用定语从句表达自己的喜好, 并能对自己看过的电影, 听过的CD等进行描述。

    通过谈论对各种不同电影的喜好, 学会调节自己的情绪。

    Answers:
    1. Comedies(like Men in Black)or cartoons(like Kung Fu Panda)have funny dialog and usually have a happy ending. The characters may not be perfect,but they try their best to solve their problems. Dramas(like Titanic)make him/her feel even sadder. Documentaries(like March of the Penguins)which provide plenty of information about a certain subject can be interesting. He/She doesn’t mind action movies(like Spider-Man)when he/she is too tired to think. He/She can just shut off his/her brain,sit back and enjoy watching an exciting superhero who always saves the world just in time. Movies that are scary can be fun,but he/she is too scared to watch them alone.
    2. He/She prefers to watch movies that can cheer him/her up.
    3. After watching comedies like Men in Black or cartoons like Kung Fu Panda,his /her problems suddenly seem less serious and he/she feels much better again.
    4. Yes,he/she does. He/She watches them once in a while when he/she can bring a friend who isn’t afraid of watching scary movies.(答案不唯一,范例仅供参考)

    1. What Do You Feel Like Watching Today?今天你想看什么(电影) ?
    feel like doing sth. 想要做某事, 相当于 would like to do sth./want to do sth.。
    I feel like doing something different today.
    = I would like/want to do something different today.
    我今天想做点儿不一样的事。
    2. While some people stick to only one kind of movie, I like to watch different kinds depending on how I feel that day. 有些人坚持只看一种电影, 而我喜欢看不同类型的电影, 这取决于我那天的心情。
    stick (stuck, stuck) 动词, 意为“粘贴; 将……刺入”。
    stick to 坚持, 维持 stick…into…把……插入……
    The nurse stuck the needle into my arm. 护士把针扎进我的胳膊。
    He promised to help us and he stuck to his word. 他答应了要帮助我们, 他没有失信。
    3. When I’m down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me up. 当我心情沮丧或疲惫时, 我更爱那些能使我高兴起来的电影。
    (1) down 形容词, 意为“悲哀;沮丧”。
    (2) cheer up 意为“使高兴;使振奋” 。是动副型短语, 后接名词时可置于up之前或之后, 接代词时只能置于cheer与up之间。
    Cheer up! It can’t be as bad as all that.
    振作起来!情况不会总那么糟。
    Nothing can cheer him up. 没有什么能让他高兴起来。
    4. Laughing for two hours is a good way to relax!两个小时的欢笑是一种很好的放松方式!
    “Laughing for two hours”是动名词结构作主语, 谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。
    Doing exercise every day is good for your health.
    每天锻炼有益身体健康。
    5. Documentaries like March of the Penguins which provide plenty of information about a certain subject can be interesting , but…像《帝企鹅日记》这种提供关于某个主题大量信息的纪录片可能很有趣, 但是……
    plenty of 意为“大量;充足”。既可修饰可数名词复数, 也可修饰不可数名词。
    There are plenty of books in the library.
    图书馆里有大量的图书。
    There is plenty of coal in this area.
    这个地区有丰富的煤。
    6. I don’t mind action movies like Spider-Man when I’m too tired to think. 当我太累不想思考时, 我不介意(看) 像《蜘蛛侠》这样的动作片。
    (1) mind 在此处用作及物动词, 意为“介意”。
    ① mind (one’s) doing sth. 意为“介意(某人)做某事”。
    Do you mind helping us? 你介意帮我们一下吗?
    ② Would/Do you mind (me/my) …? 意为“你介意(我)……?”, 其后可接动名词(短语) 。
    —Would you mind my opening the door?你介意我打开门吗?
    —Of course not. 当然不介意。
    (2) too...to...太……而不能……, too为副词, 后跟形容词或副词原级, to 为动词不定式符号, 后跟动词原形。
    The meat is too salty to eat. 这肉太咸了, 没法吃。
    【拓展】
    too…to…结构可以和so…that…及not…enough to…结构转换。
    她太小了, 不能去上学。
    She is too young to go to school.
    She is so young that she can’t go to school.
    She is not old enough to go to school.
    7. I can just shut off my brain, sit back and enjoy watching an exciting superhero who always saves the world just in time. 我正好可以让大脑休息, 悠闲地坐着, 享受观看一个总是及时拯救世界的令人激动的超级英雄的乐趣。
    (1) shut 动词, 意为“关闭; 关上”。
    shut off 关闭; 停止运转
    Shut off the Internet. 断开网络。
    (2) enjoy doing sth. 喜欢做某事
    He enjoys climbing the mountains in the morning. 他喜欢在早上爬山。
    (3) in time 及时

    What will you do, if you are not there in time, and the event started on time? 如果你没有及时赶到现场, 而且活动按时开始, 你会怎么做?
    8. Once in a while, I like to watch movies that are scary. 偶尔, 我喜欢看恐怖电影。
    once in a while 意为“偶尔地; 间或”, 相当于sometimes 或at times, 在句中作状语, 一般放在句首或句末。
    Once in a while, I speak to my friends in English.
    有时, 我用英语和我的朋友说话。
    He went to see them once in a while.
    他偶尔去探望他们。
    Step 4 Grammar Focus
    1. Complete the sentences and pay attention to these relative clauses.
    (1)“你喜欢哪种音乐?”“我喜欢可以随之歌唱的音乐。”
    —What kind of music do you like?
    —I love music that/which I can sing along with.
    (2)“许飞喜欢哪种乐队?”“他更喜欢演奏安静舒缓歌曲的乐队。”
    —What kind of groups does Xu Fei like?
    —He prefers groups that/which play quiet and slow songs.
    (3)“你喜欢哪种电影?”“我更喜欢能让我有所思考的电影。”
    —What kind of movies do you like?
    —I prefer movies that/which give me something to think about.
    (4)“卡门喜欢哪类音乐家?”“她喜欢可以演奏不同类型音乐的音乐家。”
    —What kind of musicians does Carmen like?
    —She likes musicians who play different kinds of music.
    2. Grammar
    定语从句
    定义: 定语从句是指在复合句中作定语的从句, 定语从句所修饰的词叫先行词。定语从句通常放在先行词的后面, 由关系代词或关系副词引导。我们将学习由关系代词that、which、who等引导的定语从句。

    怎样选择定语从句的关系词:
    (1)看先行词。
    先行词指人时, 关系代词用who, that, whom, whose; 先行词指物时, 关系代词用which或that。
    (2)确定关系词在从句中的成分。

    宾格
    所有格

    whose, of which
    注意: 关系代词跟在先行词之后, 定语从句的谓语动词要与先行词在数上一致。
    定语从句中选用that和which的区别:
    (1)在定语从句中, that和which两者都可以指物, 常可以互换。关系代词常用that的情况。
    ①当先行词是all, much, little, few, anything, everything, nothing, none等不定代词时;
    Do you have everything that you need?
    你需要的东西都有了吗?
    ②当先行词被the only, the last, the very等修饰时;
    This is the only example that I know.
    我知道的例子只有这一个。
    ③当先行词是序数词或被序数词、最高级修饰时;
    This is the best dictionary that I’ve ever used. 这是我用过的最好的词典。
    ④当先行词既有人又有物时;
    They talked about the persons and things that most impressed them.
    他们谈论了使他们印象最深的人和事。
    ⑤当主语是以who或which开头的特殊疑问句时。
    Which is the course that we are to take?我们选哪门课程?
    (2)关系代词常用which的情况。
    ①引导非限制性定语从句时, 通常要用which;
    He has to work on Sundays, which he doesn’t like.
    他得在星期天工作, 他不喜欢这样。
    ②直接放在介词后作宾语时, 通常要用which;
    This is the house in which they lived last year.
    这是他们去年住过的房子。
    ③先行词本身是that, those时, 通常用which。
