    Unit 6  TV programmes Integrated skills & Study skills

    设计说明

    首先通过谈论不同的电视节目来复习导入新课,然后以一个学生对三个学生的采访展开听力的练习,听的过程中涉及听前预测等听力技巧,同时设计了一系列的听力任务,边听边完成,再根据此内容展开说的练习,让学生谈论自己看电视的习惯以及对电视广告的看法,最后利用练习来复习巩固本节课知识。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:view, silly, waste

    2.能力目标

    1通过分析所给材料来获取重要信息;

    2)通过听录音获取信息,并能通过合理的猜测完成听力练习;学会表达喜欢与不喜欢,并说明原因;

    3)通过听说练习,训练学生听说的技能,逐步掌握听力技巧。

    3.情感目标

    通过听说练习,培养学生良好的看电视习惯。

    重点难点

    重点:听懂材料,谈论看电视的问题。

    难点:听懂材料,灵活使用生词和短语。

    Step 1  Lead-in

    1. Talk about different types of TV programmes. Revise the words of this unit.

    2. Have a free talk. Talk about the following questions.

    (1) Do you like watching TV?

    (2) Do you like programmes about animals /cooking/ sports?

    (3) What is your favourite programme?

    (4) What kind of programmes do you dislike?

    (5) How long do you watch TV every day?

    (6) How much time do you spend watching TV every week?

    Step 3  Speak up 

    1. Ask students to talk about TV ads. Do you like TV ads?

    2. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.

    (1) Does Millie think TV ads are interesting? 

    (2) Why does Millie think so?  

    (3) Does Simon agree with Millie? Why or why not?

    Answers: (1) Yes, she does.

    (2) Because she thinks some of them are really creative.

    (3) No, he doesn’t. Because he thinks most of them are silly.

    3. Listen and read the dialogue in pairs. 

    4. Act it out.

    5. Make up new dialogues with some useful expressions about likes and dislikes.

    A: Do you think TV programmes about history are interesting?

    B: Yes, I do.

    A: Why do you think so?

    B: Because I find them very informative and I can learn a lot of stories about history.

    A: I don’t agree with you. I think programmes about history are boring.

    B: Why?

    A: They just talk about the old stories of the past.

    Step 4  Language points

    Watching TV ads is just a waste of time. 看电视广告简直就是浪费时间。

    (1) watching TV是动名词短语作主语,谓语动词应用单数形式。

    Reading is fun. We should do more reading. 阅读很有趣。我们应该多阅读。

    Learning English well is very important. 学好英语非常重要。

    (2) a waste of time意为“浪费时间”;waste可作名词或动词,意为“浪费”。

    a waste of money/water 浪费金钱/

    Don’t waste time. You must hurry up. 不要浪费时间。你必须快点儿。

    Step 5  Study skills

    1. Show them a newspaper. Ask them to read the title and pay attention to the tense and the words of the title.

    Tell the students something about reading a newspaper.

    When you read a newspaper, you should skim the headlines first. They will tell you the topic of each title.

    3. Tell them about the newspaper.

    Newspapers use a special style of writing. Usually the most important informationthe who, what, where, when and howcomes first in an article. The details come next, from the most important details to the least important ones.
