    Writing: My birthday party

    设计说明

    让学生自由谈论聚会中想做的事情以及需要的物品,从话题导入新课。呈现本节课用到的生词。学习“Listen and say”,设置朗读、听录音、结对操练、问答等形式,让学生掌握对话内容并培养他们的语感。学习“Ask, answer and write”, 通过让学生对话交谈及罗列购物清单,鼓励学生积极思考和表达。学习有关本生日聚会的邮件,多角度设置课堂活动,确保他们理解邮件内容,并能输出给别人。此外,设置给生日图片排序以及补充图片说明性文字的活动,让学生开动脑筋,积极思考。接下来,设置开放性的写作环节,提升学生的写作能力。讲解重要知识点并设题巩固,确保学生扎实掌握语言基本功。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    学习本课节新词汇:battery, decorate, balloon, fork, charcoal, everybody

    学习句型:Id like to take some photographs.What do I need to buy?We dont have any batteries at home, so you need to buy some batteries.

    学习时态:用一般过去时描述过去的事情。

    2.能力目标

    能够听懂、谈论有关购买物品的对话;

    能够看懂有关聚会的文章;能够描写过去自己的生日经历。

    3.情感目标

    培养学生为他人分担、主动负责的精神,引导学生积极参加集体活动。

    重点难点

    重点学习本课节新词汇、句型和一般过去时

    难点能够听懂、谈论有关购买物品的对话;能够看懂有关聚会的文章;能够描写过去自己的生日经历。

    教学准备

    PPT课件;活动Listen and sayLook and read的音频;有关生词的图片。

    教学过程

    Step 1 Warming up

    1. Let the students talk freely.

    (1) What would you like to do at a party?

    (2) What would you need?

    2. Get them to compile a list on the board.

     

    Step 2 Presentation

    Present some new words: battery, decorate, balloon, fork, charcoal, everybody.

               

    battery n.电池            balloon n.气球  decorate v.装饰

                

    fork n.叉子                     charcoal n.木炭

    Everybody is happy at the party.    everybody pron.每人;人人

     

    Step 3 Listen and say

    Activity 1

    1. Give students time to read Listen and say.

    2. Play the recording for the first dialogue. The students follow in their books.

    3. In pairs, students practise the first dialogue. Select pairs to read out the dialogue.

    4. Ask the students questions to check if they understand the dialogue.

    (1) What would Kitty like to do?

    (2) What does she need to buy?

    5. Check the answers together.

    Answers: (1) Shed like to take some photos.

    (2) Some batteries and flowers.

    Activity 2

    1. Play the recording for the second dialogue. The students listen.

    2. In pairs, students practise the second dialogue. Select pairs to read out the dialogue.

    3. Ask questions to check if they understand the dialogue.

    (1) What would Kitty like to do?

    (2) What does she need to buy?

    4. Check the answers together.

    Answers: (1) Shed like to put some candles on the chocolate cake.

    (2) Some candles, some matches, some forks and charcoal.

     

    Step 4 Ask, answer and write

    1. Let the students practise the dialogue. Talk what Kitty needs to buy for Bens birthday.

    S1: What does Kitty need to buy?

    S2: She needs to buy some. . .

    2. They complete the shopping list.

    3. Check the answers together.

    some balloons, some flowers, some candles, some matches, some forks , some charcoal

    4. Let the students to thinks of some other items people have at parties.

     

    Step 5 Look and read

    1. Give the students time to read Look and read.

    2. Play the recording. The students follow in their books.

    3. Select individual students to read a sentence each.

    4. Ask questions about the e-mail. They can work in groups to make a discussion.

    (1) Whose birthday was it?

    (2) Who came?

    (3) What did they eat?

    (4) What did they do first/next/after that?

    5. Check the answers.

    Answers: (1) It was Bens birthday.

    (2) Peter, Tom and Alice.

    (3) A lot of delicious food and drink.

    (4) First, they watched some cartoons. Next, they sang a birthday song to Ben and gave him presents. After that, they had a barbecue.

     

    Step 6 Match and write

    1. Let the students put Kittys photos in the correct order.

    2. Check the answers orally. 

    Answers:

    4. Ask individual students to read out a caption (in order).

     

    Step 7 Draw and write

    1. Allow the students to draw one of their birthday parties.

    2. Give the students time to write about them.

    3. Ask individual students to read their writing.

     

    Step 8 Language points

    1. I’d like to decorate the flat for the party.聚会我想要装饰一下公寓。

    1would like to do sth.想要做某事

    They would like to buy a sweater.他们想要买一件毛衣。

    【拓展】would like sth.想要某物

    Id like a cup of tea.我想要一杯茶。

    2decorate〔动词〕装饰;装潢

    We are decorating the room to celebrate the New Year.

    我们正在装饰房间来庆祝新年。

    2. Mum taught me to make it.妈妈教我做的。

    teach sb. to do sth.教某人做某事

    He teaches me to play football.他教我踢足球。

    Who can teach me to swim?谁能教我游泳?

    【拓展】teach sb. sth.教某人某事

    Can you teach me English?你能教我英语吗?

    3. Everybody enjoyed the party very much.每个人在聚会上都很开心。

    everybody〔代词〕每人人人

    everybody用作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。

    Everybody in our class is interested in learning English.

    我们班上每个人都对学英语感兴趣。

    Everybody has different hobbies.每个人有不同的爱好。

     

    Step 9 Homework

    1. Improve your writing and send an e-mail to your penfriend to tell him/her about your birthday party.

    2. Review the words and expressions in this Module.
