      TThis is a conversation between Mandy and Lisa. It seems that there is something wrong with Lisa. Lets read it to know more.

      1. Read the conversation in 2d quickly and answer the questions.

      1Whats the matter with Lisa?

      She has a headache and she cant move her neck.

      2Should she take her temperature?

      Noshe shouldnt.

      3Why does she have a headache?

      She sits in the same way for too long without moving.

      4What should Lisa do now?

      She should lie down and rest.

      2. Read it again and find out the phrases.

      3. Play the recording. Let the students listen to and imitate it. Then let them read the conversation in pairs.

      4. Role-play the conversation in groups. Ask two or three groups to role-play it in front of the whole class.

      Step 8 Cooperative inquiry

      Discuss the following language points and fill in the blanks.

      1. Whats the matter? 意为“怎么了?常用来询问身体有什么不适;也可以询问有什么麻烦或出了什么事在使用中,要注意两点:①matter前要加定冠词 the;②要询问某人怎么了用介词 with试着翻译:汤姆怎么了?Whats the matter with Tom?

      2. 表示身体不适的短语常用动词 have有以下几种构成:

      ①have an+表示疾病的名词

      感冒 have a cold  发烧 have a fever

      咳嗽 have a cough

      ②have a sore +表示身体部位的名词

      背痛 have a sore back 喉咙痛 have a sore throat

      have an+身体部位-ache

      胃痛 have a stomachache 牙痛 have a toothache

      头痛 have a headache

      3. should情态动词意为“应该没有人称和数的变化后跟动词原形常用来提出建议其否定形式为shouldnt;变般疑问句时should提至句首
