    Presentatin
    Bring in pictures f pupils playing the games. Prepare slips f paper with the names f the games n them.
    (Bks clsed.) Intrduce the games using the pictures. Write the names f the games n the bard.
    Ask the pupils Can yu play …?
    Mime each f the games fr the pupils (e.g. tw hands mving upwards fr vlleyball, kicking fr ftball, buncing a ball fr basketball, hitting a shuttle cck fr badmintn and twisting the wrist hitting a ping-png ball fr table tennis). Say and write the names f each sprt after I mime it. Hld up a wrd card and ask the pupils t mime.
    Shw Transparency. Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette and pint t the speech bubble. Ask the pupils t repeat after the beeps.
    Practice
    (Bks pen.) Shw Transparency. Read the child’s speech bubble. Get the pupils t pint t the crrect pht.
    Pint t the ther phts and ask the pupils t make similar sentences abut the games the children are playing in each f them.
    Tell the pupils that we always need t say play plus the names f these games.
    Ask the pupils t tell me abut the games they play.

    Play a guessing game. Divide the class int tw teams. The teams take it in turns t nminate tw pupils t cme t the frnt. Shw the pupils a slip f paper with the name f a game n it and get them t read it silently. Tell them t draw a picture f the game n the bard. The members f their wn team guess what the sprt is. They get a pint fr each crrect guess. If the first team cannt guess the ther team can try. Keep scre n the bard.

    Use the phrases in part A t make sentences.

    Bring in a clck used fr teaching the time. Make sure the pupils can clearly see the twelve numbers n the clck’s face.
    (Bks clsed.) Display the clck r draw a clck n the bard. Teach the wrd clck.
    Pint t the numbers in sequence and ask the pupils t cunt with me t twelve. Then pint t numbers individually and ut f sequence, asking the pupils What number is this?
    Mve the hands t ne ’clck. Say It’s ne ’clck. Write the time n the bard in wrds and numbers. Change the hur hand t tw and repeat the prcess with the ther numbers.
    Ask What time is it? Answer the questin by pinting t the hur hand and saying It’s … ’clck. Write the questin and the answer n the bard. Write the times using wrds, e.g. ne ’clck and numerals as it wuld be written n a digital clck, e.g. 1:00.
    Ask several pupils t act the teacher. Ask them t cme, mve the hands f the clck and ask the thers What time is it?
    Practice
    (Bks pen.) Shw Transparency and play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette. The pupils listen and fllw in their bks. Cntinue t play the cassette and ask the pupils t repeat the wrds after the beeps.
    Shw the pupils the times in numbers written dwn the side f the timetable. Ask What time is it? The pupils reply It’s … ’clck. Tell the pupils t pint t the crrect small picture at the bttm f the page.
    Pint t the games the pupils are playing at the different times. Shw the pupils that Pat and Tim are playing different games at each time.
    Ask the pupils t wrk in grups f three t cmplete the cnversatin between Kk, the teacher and the by abut what the children are ding at each f the times.

    Pint t the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles alud. Ask the pupils t pint t the speech bubbles as I read them.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette fr the pupils and ask them t say after the cassette.
    Ask the pupils What is Billy? (Billy is a ball.) Ask the pupils What games can Billy play? (ftball and vlleyball).
    Ask the pupils t rle-play the stry in grups f fur and t read the characters’ speech bubbles. Sme grups may like t cme ut t the frnt and act the stry.
    Use Strycards t revise the sequence and language f the stry.
    D Tick the crrect pictures.
    Ask the pupils t read the stry again and then read the speech bubbles beside the pictures. Demnstrate hw t tick the crrect pictures accrding t the speech bubbles and the stry. Check answers using Transparency.
    E Say the sund and the wrds.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette and ask the pupils t listen t the sund and the wrds. Pint ut the spelling f this sund. There is n l sund in walk r talk.
    Say the wrds slwly and clearly. Check that the pupils are saying the sunds crrectly.
    Pint t the pictures and check that the pupils can say the wrds withut my mdel.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette again. Ask the pupils t listen t the rhyme and t tick the crrect picture shwing where the children want t play. Get the pupils t say the rhyme.

    Get a pupil t ask me What time is it? Answer them with It’s eleven/twelve/tw ’clck. As I answer demnstrate n the bard that the pupils shuld find the crrect rw in the table at the bttm f the page.
    The next pupil chses a character and asks What’s … ding? Reply using any game frm this unit. Make sure mentining each game at least nce. Take ntes abut the answers I have given in a cpy f the table n page 45 fr checking purpses at the end.
    The pupils shuld use a clured pencil t circle the name f the game if they have it in the crrect bx in the grid. As the pupils are playing, walk amng them t make sure they understand hw t d this.
    Tell the pupils when they have circled three names in a rw, a clumn r diagnally they shuld shut Bing! The first persn t d s crrectly is the winner.

    Play a clck playgrund game. Remind the pupils that when it is three ’clck, fr example, the lng hand pints t the twelve and the shrt hand pints t three. Get 12 pupils t stand in a circle. Tell each ne t call ut their number frm ne t twelve. Divide the rest f the class int tw teams. Each team sends ut a team member. Tell the team members whether they are the lng r shrt hand. Say a time. Bth members rush t stand in frnt f the crrect number. The first ne t get there gains a pint fr their team.
    G Listen, draw and chant.
    Play the Pupil’s Bk Cassette fr the pupils t listen t the chant.
    Pint t each f the small pictures and ask What’s Mary ding? Get them t answer in full sentences, she’s playing …
    Play the cassette again and tell the pupils t pint t the crrect picture fr each f the verses. Ask them t draw the crrect time n the clcks.
    Play the cassette again and encurage the pupils t jin in with the wrds.
