Asks students what they know about Ludwig van Beethoven and lets students complete the quiz on P14

让学生根据自己平时对贝多芬的认知完成测试。激发学生验证答案的兴趣，为之后快速阅读检测答案做准备。

Fast-reading

Asks Ss to scan the story about Beethoven and answer the questions on P14

通过跳读了解贝多芬的大致信息。

Step 4

Deep-reading

Read the skill builder first.

Asks Ss to read the story by themselves and add details to the diagram.

Encourage Ss to share their answer in the skill builder that they read at beginning.

Take notes and answer questions.

Ask students to read independently and find the answer by themselves.

Ask volunteer to answer the questions.

Ask others to add information to complete the task.

Pair work: choose a topic to introduce to your partner.

1. Students choose a topic and list information on that topic.
