Prfessr Geraldine Wright led the researchers. “Remembering flral traits(花部特征)is difficult fr bees t perfrm at a fast pace as they fly frm flwer t flwer and we fund that caffeine helps the bee remember where the flwers are，” Wright said in a statement.
Imprved memry led t the better pllinatin. That's because nce bees sip the caffeine nectar, they cntinue t lk fr mre cffee plants t pllinate. This als suggests that caffeine plays a rle in imprving the bees' ability t search fr fd.
Researchers fund that caffeine's effect n the bee brain is similar t its effect n mammals. “The change is similar t that prduced by caffeine in neurns(神经元)assciated with learning and memry in the rat brain，” Wright said.
Bee ppulatins have declining since 2007. The dramatic drp in the insects' numbers has serius effects fr ecsystems and the farming industry. Bees are needed in the reprductin f crps and spreading wild flwer species.
