    Teaching Prcedures
    Step 1 Warming up Xkb1.cm
    Remind the students f the unit tpic ‘Schl life’. They are surely quite clearly that we have discussed abut at least three kinds f schls: British Schl (Wdland Schl), American Schl (Rcky Muntain High Schl) and Chinese schl (Beijing Sunshine Schl and their wn schl)
    Encurage the students t cllect the infrmatin abut Wdland Schl and write sme f the key phrases and useful sentence patterns n the bard.
    It is a mixed schl.
    Hme Ecnmics is a subject at Wdland Schl. Students can learn hw t ck and sew. Befre many students did nt knw hw t d things fr themselves but nw they can ck healthy and tasty fd.
    They have a reading week every year. They can read any bks frm the schl library. They can als bring in bks and magazines frm hme. They can talk t their classmates abut their bks near the end f each class.
    It is always very shrt, because they want t read their classmates’ bks as well. ….(The teacher can als use ‘Fill in the Blanks’ t d this. )
    Encurage the students t cllect the infrmatin abut Rcky Muntain High Schl and write sme f the key phrases and useful sentence patterns n the bard.
    When yu are seventeen years ld, yu can take a driving lessns. Driving t schl (it) takes less time than taking the bus.
    Students can spend a lt f time practicing playing sftball.
    They can g t a ‘Buddy Club’. There the lder students talk t new students abut schl life. Nancy’s buddy is a senir in 12th grade. She helps Nancy learn all abut her new schl. She helps Nancy with her hmewrk and listens t Nancy’s prblems.
    During lunchtime, the students always have a great time talking t each ther.
    Smetimes the g t shpping malls after schl. ….
    Encurage the students t cllect the infrmatin abut Beijing Sunshine Schl and write sme f the key phrases and useful sentence patterns n the bard.
    There are 1,800 students and 90 teachers at Beijing Sunshine Schl.
    There are 45 classrms at Beijing Sunshine Schl.
    Students have 7 weeks ff in summertime.
    Students spend abut three hurs ding hmewrk every day.
    Students have t wear unifrms and d mrning exercises every day.
    Encurage the students t cllect the infrmatin abut Daniel’s Ideal Schl and write sme f the key phrases and useful sentence patterns n the bard
    Schl time: Daniel’s Ideal Schl
    start, finishes have lt f time fr after-schl activities.
    Lunch :Eat lunch and chat, listen t pp music, fruit and vegetables
    Subjects and classes: Mathinteresting, Cmputer Studies,
    wear unifrms but nt ties, small classes
    Equipments: a park n ne side and a shpping mall n the ther,
    Library, tennis curt and swimming pl.
    Other things: lts f clubs and after-schl activities/ half an hur f hmewrk every day, n hmewrk at weekends/ g n a schl trip t a museum r a theatre
    Encurage the students t talk abut their wn schl as well as their ideal schl
    What time des yur schl day start? D yu think it is t early r t late?
    Step 2 Finishing the Part B
    Invite the students t finish the Part B, n Page 37. Give a summary t the wrds we have cme acrss in the unit by frming wrd grups.
    Check the answers. If pssible, get the students t give mre wrds and then add them t the table.
    Step 3 Cmpare the schls
    Get the students t cmpare the schls.
    Chinese students have mre weeks ff in the summertime than British students.
    British Students spend less time ding their hmewrk than Chinese students.
    Students at Rcky Muntain High Schl d nt wear unifrms and d nt dmrning exercises.
    Talk abut the grammar invlved in the unit. (Refer t Perid Six.)
    Step 4 Cmplete Part A
    Invite the students t cmplete Part A, Page 37. T cmplete these exercises, students must use the
    deductive skills. Fr strnger class, just let the students finish the jb by themselves. Fr weaker
    classes, it is necessary fr the teacher t teach the wrds like ‘pencil bx, paper clips, rubber ’.
    Read the sentences ne by ne and get the students fcus n the cmparative wrds and encurage
    them t make the judgments.
    Step 5 Hmewrk
    a. G ver the whle unit and get ready fr the test.
    b. Finish ff the exercises in the Evaluatin Handbk and Learning English.
