    Reading (II)

    1. Teaching goals and learning goals

    At the end of this course, students should be able to master the following knowledge points:

    1. This lesson needs to master the following knowledge points: have a deeper understanding of the interview;

    2. This lesson needs to master the following knowledge points: know how to use the new language points correctly;

    3. This lesson needs to master the following knowledge points: rewrite the interview into a report;

    4. This lesson needs to master the following knowledge points: recognize the beauty of hometown and encourage students to protect it.

     

    II. Teaching content

    1. It is required to learn and master new words: since, ever, north, married, wife, block, since, over, pollution, factory, waste, realization, improvement, situation, however, impossible, before, lonely, anyway, Husband, interview, transfer...into..., in some ways, from time to time, a lifetime

    2. Requirements to learn and master the new structure:

    [Structure ] Mr. Chen, do you know Sunshine Town well?

    [Structure ] I have lived here since I was born.

                   [Structure ] Has the city changed a lot over the years?

                   [Structure ] Now the government has turned part of the town into a new park.

                   [Structure ] It is no longer possible for us to meet as often as before.

                  [Structure ] Now I feel a little lonely from time to time.

     

    III. The focus of the course and the difficulty of forecasting

    This lesson needs to master the following difficult points: Correctly use new language points.

     

    IV. Teaching procedures

    Step 1 revision

    1. Changes in Sunny Town

    Help students review the changes in Sunshine Town. Give them an opportunity to present themselves in class and remind them to pay attention to tense when describing the past and present of Sunshine Town. [Note: Please check carefully]

    2. Group work

    Discuss the changes experienced by Mr. Chen in groups. [Note: Please think carefully]

    [Design intent: to guide students to use different tenses to describe different states, while giving students an opportunity to show themselves. Provide some key words on the changes of Mr. Chen and Sunshine Town to help students sort out the context of the article.

     

    Step 2 demo

    1. Mr. Chen's house

     (1) Ask the students in pairs to interview Mr. Chen's house with the help of diagrams, some pictures and some keywords. [Note: Please watch carefully to complete this content as required]

    (2) Show some sentences about change, and let students find out the rules of the general past tense and the present perfect tense. [Note: Please watch carefully to complete this content as required]

    (3) The point of language learning-getting married. Then do some exercises. [Note: Please watch carefully to complete this content as required]

    2. Facilities

    (1) Students are required to complete two short essays to talk about the past and present of the town. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (2) Language learning point-turn… into …/turn + adj. Then do some exercises. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    3. Pollution

    (1) Show some pictures and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of development. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (2) Language learning points-pollution, pollution and being contaminated. Then do some exercises. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (3) Let students think about this question: What is the development of society? Tell them that the government is aware of the problem and is working to improve the situation. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (4) Learning language points-improvement and improvement. Then do some exercises. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (5) Panel discussion: What has the development of society brought to us? What actions can we take to improve this situation? [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    4. Life of Mr. Chen

    (1) Talk about Mr. Chen's views on current life. Learn more about "how" phrases. And translate two sentences. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    (2) Learning language points-loneliness and loneliness. Then do some exercises [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    [Design intent: through the presentation of four parts, to help students understand the text, review the details of the article, and explain and practice language points at the same time.

     

    Step 3 practice

    1. Rewrite the interview into a report

    2. Retell the changes

    In pairs, retell the changes in Sunshine Town with the help of some keywords and phrases [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required].

    3. Complete the paragraph

    Ask students to use the words and phrases we have learned to complete an essay on urbanization. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    4. Translate sentences

    Ask students to translate some sentences into English. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

    [Design intent: to change the text in the tone of Teacher Chen to enrich the complete text for students. In addition, through the discourse form, the students will learn about the four new words and a brief grasp of the situation.

     

    Step 4 production

    1. Talk about the changes in Yangzhou.

    2. Design a poster about the changes in traffic, environment and people's lives in Yangzhou. Work hard to call on more people to protect our city. [Note: Please think carefully and complete this content as required]

     

    V.Homework

    1. After learning the knowledge points of this course, complete the poster.
