    教学目标

    1. 知识目标

    Key vocabulary:

    building, hall, gate, library, office, playground, science, lab, behind, in front of, between, middle, near, with, for, room

    Key sentences:

    In the middle of the school is a big playground.

    Between this building and the dining hall is the classroom building with twenty-four classrooms.

    1. 能力目标

    To judge the position relationship between objects in the picture by description.

    To learn some key words and useful expressions.

    1. 情感目标

    ①Let students actively participate in the classroom and speak English boldly.

    To cultivate students' awareness of love for their school and their homes.

    教学重点

    ①To get information from the reading material about the school.

        To talk about the locations.

    教学难点

    Be able to introduce your school to others using the structure you have learned.

    教学准备

    教师准备:tape recorder, courseware

    学生准备:textbook, exercise book

    教学过程

    1. Lead-in:

    ①Show some pictures and ask the students like these:

    What’s this building?

    Where is the library?

    ②Show some pictures to get the students to say out the new words.

    1. Presentation

    Task 1 Learn the new words

    ①Organize the students to read the new words together.

    ②Ask the students to label the pictures with the words and expressions from the box.

    ③Read Betty’s words, and write her classmates’ names on their desks.

    ④Teacher checks the answer.

    Task 2 Reading

    ①Play the tape and ask students to scan the passage and label the map of the school and then check the answers.

    ②Ask students to skim the passage and answer the questions.

    Guide the students to listen to the tape again.

    Organize the students to read the passage with the recording.

    ⑤Check the answers in groups. Organize the students to check the answers in the whole class.

    Task 3 Language points

    ①Organize students to come to the blackboard and show out some difficult language points that they found.

    ②Teacher explains the language points and help the students to solve the difficult points.

    Task 4 Important sentences

    ①Teacher shows the important sentences.

    ②Ask the students to read through the sentences.

    1. Practice

    Ask students to finish the practice.
