Step 1:Leadingin
多媒体展示伟人爱因斯坦的图片。
T:Hello,boys and girls. Nice to see you again!Today we will learn Lesson 8.Please look at the picture. Who is he?
Ss:Einstein.
T:Yes,you are right. Can you tell me something about him?
Ss:Yes. He was born in...(各抒己见,必要时可用汉语说。)
T:OK. Look at Page 20 Lesson 8.Let’s learn more about Einstein. Ready?Go!
设计意图:直接导入与本文有关的内容,帮助学生建立一个有关爱因斯坦的介绍与成就这样一个图式,为下面文章的阅读和理解奠定基础。
Step 2:Prereading
Learn the new words
T:OK,we have known something about Einstein. Now we will learn some new words. And this will help you to learn more about Einstein. Are you ready?
Ss:Yes!
T:Please read after me.(The Ss follow the teacher two times)
(给学生几分钟的时间背诵)
T:(Three minutes later)OK,boys and girls. Let’s learn something about Einstein.
Step 3:Whilereading
1.Task 1 Scan reading(速读).
教师将全班同学划分为8个小组,小组中优帮差,小组间合作探究,迅速阅读课文,回答下面的问题。小组代表快速到黑板写出答案,组与组之间进行比赛,答对答案的赢得一颗星。
T:Boys and girls,please read quickly and find the answers to the following sentences. And then you can discuss in your groups. I will give you three minutes to think about the answers of Exercise 1 on Page 21.Then I will ask you to come to the front and write down the answers. If you write down the right answers you will win a star. Are you ready?Go!
设计意图:本活动要求学生快速把握课文信息,学会找关键句,不用详读,快速跳读,以找出答案为目的。通过小组合作,优生能够帮扶差生找到快速发现答案的技巧。
2.Task 2 Careful reading(细读).
T:Well done!Boys and girls!Now this time,I will make the exercise a little more difficult.
Read the article again and answer the questions of Exercise 2 on Page 21.And there is still a competition between you. I will give you five minutes. If you know the answers please put your hands up. And you will win stars for your group. Clear?Go!
设计意图:此活动在任务的设计上加大了一定的难度,细读对文章的内容有更进一步的理解。小组合作探究,优生帮扶差生,使差生能实际运用知识,获得成功的满足感。
3.Task 3 Read the article aloud after the recorder.
教师播放录音,播放一句,暂停一次,学生听并跟读对话。
T:Boys and girls,it’s our reading time,please read after the tape and you should pay more attention to your pronunciation and intonation,try your best to imitate it,clear?
设计意图:本活动设计在读课文两遍之后,学生对课文内容已经有了一定的了解,听录音大声朗读课文可以加深对文章的理解,并且对于学生准确的发音以及培养他们的语感有重要的作用。
4.Task 4 Work in group of 8 to deal with the key words,phrases and sentences.
教师把学生分为8人一组,学生通过合作探究找出大屏幕上出现的重点句子,并学习。
T:This time,it’s your own reading time,please read and find the sentences on the screen in groups,and after that we will come to the “Question Time”.
the key words,phrases and sentences:
(1)Einstein is most famous for his Theory of Relativity.爱因斯坦以他的相对论最为著名。
be famous for...因……而闻名。famous形容词,“有名的,著名的”。
(2)After he finished school,he went on to study physics in Switzerland.
他毕业之后,继续去瑞士学物理。
句子结构:本句是由after引导的时间状语从句。go on to do sth.继续做某事。
(3)He signed his last letter before he passed away.在他去世之前,他签署了他的最后一封信。
句子结构:本句是由before引导的时间状语从句。pass away意为“过世;去世”。
(4)The letter asked people to give up nuclear weapons.这封信要求人们放弃核武器。
give up放弃,后接名词或动名词作宾语。
(5)The important thing is not to stop questioning.最重要的事情是不要放弃提问。
句子结构:本句是to do不定式作表语。
(6)Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
永不犯错意味着永不创新。
句子结构:本句是一个含有定语从句的复合句。who has never made a mistake作anyone的定语。
给学生一段时间背诵这些句子和知识点。
设计意图:学生应是学习的主体,教师要努力调动学生学习的积极性和主动性,通过组内合作讨论,探究,找出对话中的重点短语和句子,把所学的知识转化为学习能力。
5.Task 5 Challenge your memory
Do Exercise 3 on Page 21 by yourself.
学生到黑板写下答案,小组间竞争得分。
Step 4:Group work
Work in groups. Who is your favourite Nobel Prize winner?What is his/her main achievement?Talk about him/her with your group members and then write a passage.
I will choose someone to show your writing with video. If you think you are excellent enough,come on!You will get stars for your group!
设计意图:所学的文章给我们提供了一篇介绍名人的范文。学生可以模仿该文章写一写自己喜欢的一名诺贝尔奖获得者。在写之前学生讨论在写这样一个题目时需要包含哪些内容,并且教给他们一些写作策略。最后是学生作文的展示活动,通过展示检查纠正他们出现的错误,帮助学生对容易犯错的地方有更加深刻的认识。
