Then during the reading time, I raced frm jyless child t demanding child, unable t cnvince even ne t pen a bk. They wuld rather be watching Nickelden at hme, Mylea tld me, than “learning stupid tennis and reading bring bks”.
That evening, exhausted as I was, I called my vlunteers tgether fr a meeting, and redesigned the entire curriculum. Munt Qmlangma, meaning “Hly Mther” in Tibetan, is the wrld’s highest muntain abve sea level. N wnder mst peple cnsider climbing t its tp as ne f their biggest achievements. Mre than 4, 000 climbers, ranging frm 13 t 80 years ld, have managed t reach the tp. Three peple frm the Sherpa cmmunity hld the current recrd at 21 times each!
