    Period 1 (Section A 1a-2c) 设计说明 本节课的主题是学生感兴趣的话题——聚会。首先师生自由交际,谈论如何发出、接受和拒绝邀请,激发学生的学习兴趣。利用图片教授单词,并利用图片创设语境,在语境中练习单词和短语,引入本课时的重点句型。这样既直观、简洁,又能充分调动学生的积极性。在做听力训练之前,要让学生充分了解听力材料所涉及的图片和句型,为听力训练扫清障碍。跟读听力材料,可以为下一步的语言输出做好铺垫。 教学目标 1. 知识目标: (1)掌握新单词:prepare,exam,flu,available。 (2)掌握下列短语:prepare for,go to the/a doctor,have the flu,another time。 (3)掌握句型:“Can you come to my party on Saturday afternoon?” “Sure,I’d love to.” “Sorry,I can’t. I have to prepare for an exam.” “I’m sorry. I’m not available.” “Maybe another time.” “Thanks for asking.”。 2. 能力目标:如何有礼貌地发出、接受和拒绝邀请。 3. 情感目标:学会人际交往的基本常识,学会有礼貌地邀请别人以及答复别人邀请的方式。 重点难点 1. 重点: (1)掌握本课时的生词、短语及句型。 (2)学会用情态动词can表达邀请,学会对邀请进行恰当的答复:接受或拒绝。 2. 难点: (1)扎实掌握重点词汇和表示邀请的句型并能灵活运用。 (2)通过听力练习和小组合作,理解并能发出邀请并作肯定回答。 教学准备 多媒体课件、录音机、磁带。 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up & Leading in 1. Revision(Learning Task 1) Translate the following phrases. 看望爷爷奶奶 visit grandparents 为考试而学习 study for an exam 上钢琴课 have a piano lesson 打扫我的房间 clean my room 帮忙做家务 help with (the) housework 做家庭作业 do one’s homework 看牙医 see the dentist 照顾我的妹妹 look after my sister 2. Leading in T:Do you like parties? Ss:Yes. T:What can you do at a party? S1:I can dance. S2:I can sing. S3:I can... T:New Year’s Day is coming. We are going to have a party. Can you come to the party? S4:Yes,I’d love to. / Sorry,I have to... Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures to students. Teach the phrases:prepare for an exam,help my parents,go to the doctor,meet my friend,have the flu. (板书短语)    For example: T:What’s the matter with the boy? S:He has the flu. T:Can he come to the party? S:No,he can’t. He has to go to the doctor. 2. Check Learning Task 2. Translate the following phrases into Chinese. have the flu 患流感 go to the doctor 去看医生 prepare for an exam 为考试做准备 help my parents 帮助我的父母 meet my friend 见我的朋友 Step 3 Practice 1. Read the phrases to the class,and students repeat each one after the teacher. 2. Work on 1a. Have students match the phrases with the pictures. Check the answers. Answers:1. a 2. e 3. d 4. b 5. c 3. Show some pictures to students on the screen. Say,“Can you come to my party?”Have S1 give a “yes” answer and S2 give a “no” answer with a reason according to the pictures. Ask students to give their own reasons. If necessary,give a reason and have students repeat it. For example: T:Can you come to my party? S1:Yes,I’d love to. S2:Sorry,I can’t. I have to go to the doctor. Step 4 Listening 1. Work on 1b and 1c. (1)Make sure of the names they will write. (2)Play the recording for the first time. Students listen and write the names next to the correct students in the picture. Ask them to pay attention to the names they hear while listening. (3)Check the answers. Answers:a. Tim b. Anna c. Kay d. Wilson (4)Play the recording again. Students listen and try to repeat. Write the following sentences on the blackboard while students are listening. A:Can you come to my party? B1:Yes,I’d love to. B2:Sorry,I can’t. I have the flu. Sorry,I can’t. I have to... (5)Read the sample in 1c. Then students work in groups of four. Student A invites three students B,C and D to his party. Students B,C and D accept or decline the invitation. Ask some groups to show their conversations,and correct their mistakes if necessary. (6)Explanation “Can you...?”意为“你能……吗?”,是客气地请求某人做某事的句子。肯定回答常用Sure/Yes,I’d love/like to. 。委婉的否定回答常用Sorry+拒绝的原因。例如: A:Can you come to my house for dinner? 你能来我家吃晚饭吗? B:Sure,I’d love to. 当然,我愿意。 C:Sorry,I can’t. 对不起,我不能。 2. Work on 2a. (1)Guide students to look at the pictures in 2a and give them a situation:Anna is going to have a party tomorrow. She invites Jeff,Mary,May,Mei Ling and Paul to come to the party. Can they come? Then let’s come to our listening. (2)Read the five sentences in 2a before listening. (3)Work on 2a. Listen and circle can or can’t. (4)Check the answers. Answers:Circled:1. can’t 2. can 3. can’t 4. can’t 5. can 3. Work on 2b. (1)List the names who can’t go to the party in the chart. (2)Play the recording again,and tell students to write the reasons in the chart this time. Make sure they know what to do. (3)Ask students to take notes first. They should write down the key words or some important phrases,and then use them to make complete sentences. (4)Play the recording again to check the answers. Answers: 4. Listen and repeat. Step 5 Pair work 1. Tell students to look at the reasons in the chart in 2b. Then write some more in 2c. 2. Let students read the conversation on the right of the chart in 2c. 3. Students practice the conversation using the reasons they write on the left in the chart. 4. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step 6 Check Check Learning Task 3. 1. —Can you come to my party (来参加我的聚会) on Saturday afternoon? —Sure,I’d love/like to (我愿意). 2. Sorry,I can’t. I have to prepare for (不得不为……做准备) an exam. 3. I have too much (太多的) homework this weekend. 4. I’m not available (有空的). 5. Thanks for asking (邀请). 6. Maybe another time (其他时间). Step 7 Summary 1. New words and phrases:prepare,exam,flu,available,prepare for,go to the/a doctor,have the flu,another time. 2. Sentences:—Can you come to my party? —Yes,I’d love to. /Sorry,I can’t. I have the flu. 当堂达标(见导学案“当堂达标”) 答案与解析: Ⅰ. 1. preparing 句意:他们正在为英语考试做准备,所以他们不能和你一起出去。prepare for sth. 是固定短语,意为“为……做准备”。 2. available 由he has too much homework to do(他有太多的作业要做)可知“他这周末没空”。 3. exams 句意:我们正在为即将到来的年终考试而学习。 4. flu 句意:她不能去参加你的聚会了,因为她患流感了。 5. another another time意为“其他时间”。 6. asking 句意为“明天你能跟我们去钓鱼吗?”“当然。感谢你的邀请。”for是介词,后跟动名词形式。 Ⅱ. 1. Can,play can是情态动词,变一般疑问句时可将其直接提到句首。 2. Would,like 向别人发出邀请我们还可以用“Would you like to do sth. ?”句型。Would you like...? 可以用来礼貌地询问对方的意愿。 3. What does,have to do 对所做的事进行提问要用what;has是第三人称单数形式,因此应借助助动词does来完成问句。 4. No,can’t 以can开头的一般疑问句,其否定回答为“No,主语+can’t.”。 5. preparing for be getting ready for=be prepare for,意为“为……做准备”。上句为现在进行时,故本句也用现在进行时,故填preparing for。 Step 8 Homework 1.
