一般现在时的用法：
表示反复发生的动作及人或物的一般特征：不指特定的时间。
动作或特征可发生在任何时间，包括现在、过去和将来，表示动作及状态的动词以及助动词都可用于这个时态。
示例1:表动作动词
The sun rises in the east.
示例2:表状态动词
Wealth and fame mean nthing t me.
示例3:助动词
Yu need nt see the lawyer.
这样用时，一般现在时常和表示频度的副词或副词短语一起用。
副词及副词短语：
never, hardly, scarcely, rarely, seldm, smetimes,ften, frequently, generally, always;yearly, quarterly, mnthly, daily;twice a year, five times a week, n alternate days.
示例1:Thmas never smiles.
示例2:He ges t schl five days a week.
02表示未来计划，将来时间或明确说出，或是对方知道。
示例1:I g (=am t g) t Hng Kng next June.
示例2:When des the meeting take place?
03在从句中表示未来动作，这时主句已使用一个将来时态。
示例1:Anyne that cmes(形容词从句) will be warmly welcmed.
示例2: His success will depend upn hw he starts the plan.(名词从句)
示例3:I will keep silence even thugh everyne asks me abut it(副词从句).
注意：上面这类句子的从句中，一般不使用助动词shall和will，如表示“愿意”，从句中也可以用will：
示例1:If he will (=is willing t) send the mney, it will save truble.
示例2:Yu will succeed if yu will (=are willing t) try.
即使在主句中，will 或 shall 有时也可以不出现：
示例1:I must nt g althugh the weather is fine.
示例2:I tell yu the stry while we are taking a walk.
示例3:If yu refuse, I am ruined.
04描绘或讲述正当说话时发生的动作：
示例1:I hand yu this letter.
示例2:As I (r We) write (= At the time f writing )，the war has brken ut.
05描述想象的将来或过去发生的情况，使故事显得栩栩如生，就仿佛在眼前发生似的。
现在进行时和现在完成时也可在使用。
这种用法可以称作戏剧式的现在时（Dramatic Present）。
示例1:The slaughtered citizens lie everywhere, and the tyrant is triumphing in their miseries.
示例2:As sn as I arrive at the inn, tw strangers cme and greet me, and ask me if I have murdered a wman.
06在图片、照片、连环画和卡通片的解说词及戏剧性的叙述中：
示例1:David plays tennis with Mary.
示例2:Hundreds f students demnstrate.
示例3:Hamlet decides t revenge his father, but hesitates t kill his enemy, etc.
07在口语中代替现在完成时，hear和read这类动词常可这样用：
示例1:
My father writes(=has written) that he will return hme next mnth.
示例2:The Bible says that...
注意啦：但是A bradcast said this mrning that...
在不规范英语中，有人说says I, says Mary, says they等，来代替 I said, Mary said, they said 等。
08表示一个作家的过去动作或讲话，到现在还继续有效：
示例:Darwin riginates the thery f evlutin and differs frm the Bible n the creatin f the Wrld.

09用在题目或标题中，不管讲的情况是什么时候发生的（这时用过去时讲过去情况也是可以的）：
