连词

一、定义

连接单词、短语、分句或句子的词，是一种虚词，不能单独作句子的成分，只起连接作用。

二、分类

连词分为并列连词和从属连词。并列连词连接两个或多个并列关系的单词、短语或句子；从属连词主要用来引导从句。

三、常见的连词

1. 常见并列连词

(1) and & but & or & so & however

①and，意为“和，而且”，连接两个并列、对等关系的单词、短语和句子。连接谓语时，两个动词时态要一致。

②but，意为“但是，可是”，表示转折。

③or，意为“或者，还是”，表示在两者之间选择一个。or还有“否则”的意思。

④so，意为“因此，于是”，表示因果关系，不能和because并列使用。

⑤however，意为“然而”，表示转折，要用逗号与句子其它部分隔开。

【例如】：

Do you want beer ________tea? 你想要啤酒还是茶？

She stood up ________left. 她站起来离开了。

She felt ill. ________, she went to work. 她病了，然而她照旧去上班。

I like English, ________ my brother doesn’t. 我喜欢英语，但是我的哥哥不喜欢。

Hurry up, ________ you will be late. 快点，否则你会迟到。

It’s raining, ________ you had better take an umbrella. 下雨了，所以你最好带伞。

(2) both...and... & either... or... & not only... but also... & neither... nor...

⑥both...and...，意为“两者都......”，连接两个主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

⑦either... or...，意为“或者……或者……，要么……要么……”，连接两个主语时，谓语动词的数与or跟的主语保持一致。

⑧not only... but also...，意为“不仅……而且……”，连接两个主语时，谓语动词的数与but

also跟的主语保持一致。

⑨neither... nor...，意为“既不……也不……”，连接两个主语时，谓语动词的数与nor跟的主语保持一致。

【例如】：

2. 常见从属连词

(1) when & before & after

①when，意为“当……时”，表示一段时间或时刻。

②before，意为“在……之前”。

③after，意为“在……之后”。

【例如】：Don’t forget to wash your hands ________ you have dinner. 吃饭前别忘了洗手。

I usually play football ________ the school is over. 放学后，我经常踢足球。

________ your parents are old, you should take care of them.

当你父母老了，你应该照顾他们。

④because，意为“因为”。

⑤though/although，意为“虽然，尽管”，表示转折，不能与but连用。

【例如】：He failed in the exam ____________ he didn’t study hard.

他考试不及格，因为他学习不用功。

________/________ it was raining, we went there.

虽然下着雨，但我们还是去了那儿。

(2) as soon as & as long as & until

⑥as soon as，意为“一……就…….”。

⑦as long as，意为“只要”。

⑧until，意为“直到……为止”。

【例如】：He runs away ____________ he sees the dog. 他一看到狗就跑。

____________ you drive carefully, you will be very safe.

只要你开车小心，你就会很安全。

I’ll work ________ he tells me to stop. 我会一直工作到他叫我停下来为止。

She didn’t go to bed ________ she finished her homework.

她直到做完作业，才去睡觉。

(3) unless & if

⑨unless，意为“除非……”。

⑩if，意为“如果，是否”。

【例如】：

You will miss the bus ________ you hurry up. 如果你不快点，就会错过班车。

Lily asked ________ she liked it. 莉莉问她是否喜欢它。
