现在分词作定语:形容词,说明主语的性质、状态,特征,可用very,quite修饰2. 作定语的用法:(与被修饰词是主动关系)(1)一个单词放在名词前做前置定语。I am lking at the rising sun.(2)如果是短语,就定语后置(可定语从句代替)。The wman having lessns is my English teacher.
(3)现在分词可相当于非限制性定语,常用逗号分开。 Tm, wearing beautiful clthes, fllwed me dwn the hill. = Tm, wh is wearing beautiful clthes, fllwed me dwn the hill.(4)有时现在分词可以和副词或名词构成复合词作定语。This is an English-speaking cuntry. peace-lving热爱和平的 paper-making造纸的 recrd-breaking打破记录的
(5)由动词转换来的ing形容词可以作定语:interesting surprising relaxing exciting charming tiringan interesting bk a surprising present a piece f exciting news
现在分词作表语多表示主语的特征。amusing, encuraging, puzzling, interesting, astnishing, exciting 等。 例1:The stry is mving. 例2:The stry is very interesting.
现在分词作宾补,宾语是分词这一动作的执行者。(1)做感官动词的宾语补足语。
感官类动词:…sb. ding sth.注意:ntice一感:feel二听:hear/listen t四看:lk at, bserve, see, watch例1: I saw him walking n the street.
sb.+ding:…到……正在……
(2)使役动词have,get,keep,leave后面用现在分词作补语,“使处于…状态,或者持续动作”。Can yu keep the clck ging?Leave him standing utside.She gt her bike running very fast.
现在分词作状语表示主动和进行。在句中可以做时间、地点、原因、条件、结果、让步、伴随和方式等状语。(与句子主语存在主动逻辑关系,并且与谓语动作同时发生)
(1)做时间状语:分词和谓语同时进行:Hearing the news, they culdn’t help crying.(as sn as)谓语的动作发生在分词期间:Walking in the street, I came acrss an ld friend.(when/while) 分词动作发生在谓语动作之前,用分词的完成形式:Having wrked with them, I knw they are very hard-wrking.(after )
(2)做原因状语:Being ill, he didn’t g t schl.(because)Having seen this mvie many times, he didn’t g t see it last night.(because)(3)表条件:相当于一个条件if引导的状语从句Using yur head, yu will find a way.(4)表让步:相当于althugh/thugh引导的从句Althugh getting up early, he was late fr schl.
(5)表伴随和方式:动作同时发生,相当于并列连词连接两个并列成分。They sat n the chair, talking with each ther.(6)表结果:表示自然的结果The mther died, leaving five children behind.
表示动作是过去的,完成的。
过去分词作表语:(1)及物动词的过去分词作表语:主语和分词为被动关系,表示被动和状态的完成。 The cup is brken.(2)不及物动词的过去分词作表语:主语和分词是主动关系,表示主语的状态,此时只表示动作的完成。 He is retired.(interested relaxed frightened mved bred wrried surprised属此类用法。)
2. 过去分词作定语:(1)过去分词为一个单词,放在单词前,定语前置。Did yu pay a visit t the tmb f the unknwn sldier?Her jb is t take care f the wunded sldier.(2)过去分词为一个短语,放在单词后,定语后置,相当于一个定语从句和非限定性定语。 Trucks and buses were driven n gas carried in large bags n the rf.Sme f them, brn and brught up in rural villages, had never seen a train.
3. 过去分词作状语:表被动和完成。例1:Written in a hurry, the article is nt s gd.例 2:Lst in deep thught, she didn’t heard the sund例3:When given an examinatin, we shuld keep calm.(when/while)例4:Tired ut by hard wrk, he sn fell asleep.(since/because)例5:Given mre time, we culd d them better.(if)例6:Beaten by the ppsite team, we were nt discuraged.(althugh)
4. 过去分词作宾补:补充说明宾语。(1)表示心理和感觉的动词,表示分词发生在动词之前。He fund his hmetwn greatly changed. I heard the sng sung in English.(2)使役动词+dne:使……被……I’ll have my teeth pulled tmrrw. Dn’t leave thse things undne.(3)with+宾语+dne:伴随着..….被……She is standing in frnt f me, with eyes fixed n my face.With water heated, we can see the steam.
