This tendency explains magicians’ success in fling peple with well-knwn cin tricks. Fr example, when yu see a magician thrwn a cin up and dwn in ne hand and then fake a cin thrw t the ther hand, yu wuld naturally believe that the cin is in the ther hand.
      Apart frm the infrmatin gaps, magicians als use the“blind spts”thery when ding their shws. The mst well knwn experiment demnstrating this thery is called the “invisible grilla”, in which vlunteers watch a vide f tw basketball teams. They are asked t cunt hw many times the teams wearing white shirts pass the ball. In the meantime, a persn dressed as a grilla walks nt the curt. But shckingly, half f the viewers dn’t ntice the grilla, even when they appear t be lking directly at it. Magicians emply this trick, what they call“misdirectin”, in almst every ne f their acts. They direct ur attentin smewhere else using cmedy and music, which can make us miss stuff during the perfrmance.
