When he was 23 years old, he climbed Mount Everest. In 2007, he set another world record by flying over Mount Everest in a powered paraglider(滑翔伞). His book，Facing the Frozen Ocean, got shortlisted for the UK's “Sports Book of the Year”. Since then he has written more than 15 books, including the No. 1 Bestseller: Mud, Sweat and Tears.

His name is Bear Grylls, and he was the host of Discovery Channel's famous TV show, Man vs. Wild. In the show, he was left in faraway areas in order to show survival(生存的) skills. Millions of viewers watched, breathless, as he climbed terribly dangerous mountains, performed amazing ice climbing, and ran through a forest fire.

Grylls continues to shine with both his amazing shows and charity(慈善) work. And he has set up his own company,  Bear Grylls' Survival Academy,  where  everyone can  learn survival skills from him and his highly­trained team.

Recently, Grylls founded Young Survivors—training courses for teenagers, including survival skills and adventure tasks designed to teach the basic rules of outdoor survival self­rescue. Those who complete the course are given a Young Survivors Award. Skills are taught including how to build and light a fire, how to tell directions in both day and night, putting up a protection building, bad weather survival and so on. The key focus of the course is getting young survivors back in touch with nature and away from technology.

In Grylls' own words: “The thing I love about Young Survivors Course is that it is designed to put young adults in just the kind of challenging, character­building and practical situations that help consider them as adults. So often, young adults can feel almost over­protected and are stopped from experiencing some of the best things in life—but the Young Survivors Award will challenge and empower them in an unbelievable fun environment. ”

When you meet Esther Okade, she seems really like a normal 10­year­old child. She loves dressing up as Elsa from a movie, playing with Barbie toys and going to the park or shopping. But what makes the British­Nigerian youngster stand out is the fact that she's also a university student.

Esther's mother noticed her daughter's natural ability for math shortly after she began homeschooling her when Esther was only three years old. Esther's parents took her into a private school. But after a few short weeks, Esther cried out in tears and she said, “I don't want to go back to that school. They don't even let me talk！”

“In the UK, you do not have to start school until you are five. Education is not compulsory(义务的)until that age so I thought OK, and we will be doing little things at home until then. Maybe by the time she's five, she will change her mind，” said Esther's mother.

 Michael Ha was born in a poor family over twenty years ago. His father worked as a factory welder(焊接工)in Vietnam before moving to Britain in 1980 with his wife. Gu Fangzhou, a pioneer in the development and production of the polio vaccine(脊髓灰质炎疫苗) in China, is one of the top ten people who moved China in 2019.

He was born on June 16, 1926 in Shanghai. In 1957, he was appointed to develop the polio vaccine. After the vaccine came out, he tried the medicine on his own, risking paralysis(麻痹) and death, without hesitation. Gu Fangzhou and his colleagues first took themselves as the subjects of the trial and tried the vaccine. At the end of 1960, the first batch(批) of 5 million doses of vaccine  was promoted to 11 cities in China, and the peak of the polio epidemic was reduced.

Gu Fangzhou learned from the method of making pills in traditional Chinese medicine, and creatively integrated liquid(液体) vaccine into sugar pills. The birth of sugar pill vaccine is the highlight in the history of human polio vaccine. From then on, the number of cases decreased year by year, and millions of children were free from disability. In 2000, the World Health Organization confirmed that China became a polio­free country. From 1957 to 2000, Gu Fangzhou trudged(负重前行) for more than 40 years on the uneven road of polio eradication(消灭脊灰).

In January 2019, Gu Fangzhou left some words at the end of his life: “I have done one thing in my life, which is worth. I hope children grow up quickly to serve the motherland. ” In September 2019, Gu Fangzhou was awarded the national honorary title “The People's Scientist”.

The person I admire is Tu Youyou. She is a famous female chemist and scientist. She was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on December 30th, 1930. In 1951，she was admitted into Peking University. After graduation she has been working in China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing. In 1972, she succeeded in discovering artemisinin to cure those patients of malaria in different places of the world. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in October, 2015.
