Who are they? T says: Where could we volunteer? T asks:What could we volunteer do at these places? Then shows some pictures: (1)help the teacher give out exercise books (2)visit the sick kids in the hospital (3)help old people cross the road safely (4)unpaid blood donation ...... T lets Ss talk about: What do you think of volunteers? Do you want to be a volunteer? T says:Do you know ?There is a special day in December. On that day, many people would like to help others who need help. Introduction of “International Volunteer Day” 看图，They are volunteers. 说说哪里可以做志愿活动。 学校、医院、养老院等等。 讨论你知道哪些志愿者行为？ 讨论你是怎样看待志愿者的？你愿意成为一名志愿者吗？ 了解国际志愿者日。 通过图片引入话题—志愿者，激发学生的兴趣。 通过自由讨论和引导，进一步活跃课堂气氛。Step 2 Pre-listening T says:Look at the ways you could help people in the picture. T gets the students to listen and number the ways the boy and the girl could help others. Ask Ss to listen again and try to fill in the blanks. Discussion: How to express willingness ? How to give advice ? Go through 1c, T asks Ss to practice with partner. T shows the pictures in Activity 2a and says:A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-Up Day. Now look at the pictures carefully and read the phrases below. Then match them with the pictures. T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen and check (√) the things they are going to do to tell people about it. Then checks the answers. Listen again. Fill in the blanks. Go through 2b, T lets Ss listen again and fill in the blanks. T asks Ss to retell students’ plan according to the mind map. T says :You can start like this: Some students are making a plan for City Park Clean-Up Day. Tom did that last summer. Let’s read the conversation in 2d and answer the following questions. 1. What is Helen doing? 2. When did Tom work in the old people’s home? 3. What did Tom do in the old people’s home? 4. How do most old people feel? 5. What does Tom think they should do?
