Unit 1  What day is it today?

知识点01  1. What day is it today? 今天是星期几？

what day意为“星期几；什么日子”。常用句型What day...?来询问星期几或节日。

回答常用“It is+星期几或节日名称”或直接回答星期几或节日名称。如：

—What day is it today?                 今天是星期几？

—It’s Wednesday./Wednesday.           今天是星期三。/星期三。

—What day is it tomorrow?             明天是什么日子？

—（Tomorrow is） Teachers’ Day.     （明天是）教师节。

【典例】--- What’s today?     ---___.

► day是名词，意为“一天”。如：

a seven-hour working day              一个七小时的工作日

There are seven days in a week.         一个星期有七天。

在表示一些节日时，常会用到day，此时day的首字母要大写。如：

New Year’s Day元旦      Children’s Day儿童节

► today作名词时，意为“今天”。如：

Today is Thursday.                    今天是星期四。

与today用法相同的还有tomorrow（明天）和yesterday（昨天）。

today还可作副词，意为“在今天；在今日”。如：

I have an English lesson later today.      今天晚些时候我有一节英语课。

►Monday是名词，意为“星期一”。如：

I have six lessons on Monday.           星期一我有六节课。

► 对询问星期几的四种回答：

 (1)直接回答星期几。如: Sunday.    星期天。

(2)It's +星期几。如:It's Sunday.   今天星期天。

(3) Today/tomorrow is +星期几。如:

Today/Tomorrow is Sunday.       今天/明天是周日。

(4)It's +星期几+ today/ tomorroww. 如:

It's Sunday todav/ tomorrow.      今天/明天是周日。

2.星期一到星期天的单词及其缩写分别为：Monday（Mon.）, Tuesday（Tue.）, Wednesday（Wed.）,

3.星期名词首字母要大写。

知识点03  What day is your favourite day?你最喜欢星期几？

What’s your favourite...?用来询问对方“最喜欢的……是什么”

回答时可用My favourite...is...或直接回答最喜欢某物。

► favourite作形容词时，意为“最喜爱的”。如：

My favourite colour is blue.            我最喜欢的颜色是蓝色。

Her favourite animal is the cat.         她最喜爱的动物是猫。

【典例】—_______is her favourite subject?

—Her favourite subject is Art.

favourite作名词时，意为“最喜欢的人或事物”。如：

Swimming is my favourite.            游泳是我最喜欢的事。

favourite本身就表示最喜欢的人或事物，所以它不能再被程度副词best, most, very, quite等修饰。

favourite可用like...best来代替，回答时可用I like...best.。如：

I like spring best.=My favourite season is spring.                  我最喜欢春天。

Your favourite day is Sunday.=You like Sunday best.               你最喜欢星期天。

—What’s your favourite food?    =What food do you like best?     你最喜欢的食物是什么？

—My favourite food is chocolate. =I like chocolate best./Chocolate.   我最喜欢巧克力。/巧克力。
