2. Ask Ss to look at the picture and tell what they see in each scene.

1. Play the tape for Ss to listen to 1b.

2. Make Ss listen and write the names (Tim, Kay, Anna and Wilson) next to the correct students in the picture.

3. Make Ss listen again and fill in the blanks.

C: Sorry, I can’t. I have to prepare for an exam.

D: I’m sorry, too. I must go to the doctor. 

3. Ask Ss to look at pictures to practice the sentences and talk about if they can come to the party.

4. Work in pairs.

Make invitations, accept invitations and turn down invitations.
