3. predict the robots in the future with the words and expressions correctly.

possible, impossible, side...

  help with the housework, over and over again, the same... as, be able to, wake up, disagree with, hundreds of, for example, fall down, look for...

2. Key sentences:

a. They help with the housework and do jobs like working in dirty or dangerous places.

b. Fewer people will do such jobs in the future because they are boring, but robots will never get bored.

c. Scientists are now trying to make robots look like humans and do the same things as we do.

d. It will be difficult to make them really think like a human.

Make Ss read the article again quickly. Before that, Ss look through the four sentences. Skip it when meeting a blank line.Ss complete the task individually.Choose 1 or 2 Ss to present the answers.Check the answers. Practice reading.

3. Work on 2d.

Call Ss' attention to 2d. Look at the picture and scan the passage for the main idea.Fill in the blanks in this paragraph with words from the article in 2b. Choose 2 or 3 Ss to give the answers. Check the answers together.

本部分是课文细读部分。阅读之后回答问题、完成填空。通过问题设计，让学生带着问题阅读，使他们学会提取文章的重要信息。

Work on 2e.

1. Choose a student to read the instructions to the class.

2. Pair-work. Discuss with your partner about the following questions:

What kinds of animals might robots look like in the future?

What do you think these robots will be able to do?

Write down your ideas in the chart.

3. Choose 2 or 3 Ss to read their answers out.

4. Make short comments on what the Ss wrote.
