    设计说明

    检查上一节课的作业,教授新课生词、短语,并让学生思考自己的梦想或兴趣。设置多种课堂活动学习新课,如听课文选择正确答案,读课文回答问题,读课文给句子排序,翻译课文中的短语等。通过这些活动由浅入深、循序渐进地完成新课的学习。带领学生做Let’s Do It! 的练习,训练听力和表达能力。通过学会学习的规律总结,让学生能够举一反三,领悟语言学习的技巧。接下来讲解本课的重难知识点,并进行当堂检测,查缺补漏。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:program, voice, excellent, heart, beat, herself 

    接触单词:microphone, confident, stage, slowly     

    短语:dream of being, believe in oneself

    2.能力目标

    能够读懂有关梦想和爱好的文章。

    3.情感目标

    发现自己的长处,勇于追逐自己的梦想。

    Step 1  Review

    Check their homework. Let some students share their writings.

    Step 2  Presentation 

    1. Teach the new words and phrases microphone, confident, stage, slowly, program, voice, excellent, heart, beat, herself, dream of beingand believe in oneself.

    2. Get the students to read the new words and phrases aloud by themselves, and then repeat them two or three times after the teacher.

    Ask the students to think about the questions and try to answer them.

    ·Do you have any dreams or interests? What are they?

    ·What would you like to do but feel afraid to try?

    Step 4  Listening and choosing

    1. Listen to the passage and choose the correct answers.

    (1) Cathy dreamed of being a/an______.

    2. Play the recording again for the students to check the answers.

    3. Elicit answers by asking individual students to read the sentences out.

    Step 5  Reading and answering

    1. Read the lesson and answer the questions. Discuss in groups.

    (1) Did Cathy have any singing lessons?

    (2)What did Cathy want to show in the talent show?

    (3) Did she feel nervous on the talent show?

    (4) What did her friends say when she finished singing?

    2. Elicit answers by asking individual students to read the sentences out.

    Answers: (1) No, she didnt.

    (2) She wanted to sing.

    (3) Yes. She felt nervous at first.

    (4) Her friends said she would become a real opera singer someday.

    Step 6  Reading and numbering

    1. Read the lesson and number the sentences in the correct order.

    She stood on the stage and began to sing.

    She dreamed of being an opera singer when she was a little girl.

    She wanted to take part in the show but wasnt confident.

    One yearher school had a talent show.

    The students loved Cathys song.

    Her teacher encouraged her to take part in the talent show.

    2. Check the answers together.

    Answers: 5-1-3-2-6-4

    3. Retell Cathy’s story according to the sentences.

    Step 7  Translating

    Ask the students to translate the following phrases.

    Step 10  Learning to learn

    Look at these sentencesI find it a little hard. I cant help you write the report. That makes me unique. I felt my heart beating so fast. They all have object complements. Object complements (words in blue) give more information about objects (words in red). Circle the object complements in the activity above. Can you figure out the rule?

    Step 11  Language points

    1. Even when I was a little girl, I dreamed of being an opera singer.甚至当我还是一个小女孩时,我就梦想成为一名歌剧演唱家。

    dream of doing sth.意为“梦想做某事”。同义短语为dream to do sth.

    When I see the birds, I dream of flying in the sky.

    当我看见鸟儿时,我梦想在天上飞翔。

    He dreamed of becoming a doctor when he was young.

    他年轻时梦想成为一名医生。

    2. But I taught myself by listening to the radio and watching TV programs.但是我通过听收音机和看电视节目自学。

    (1) teach oneself= learn/study by oneself, 意为“自学”。

    I teach myself basketball.

    =I learn/study basketball by myself. 我自学的篮球。

    (2) by作介词,意为“通过”,因此这里的listenwatch用动名词形式。

    Lucy learns English by making cards.露西通过做卡片学英语。

    How do you study for a test? 你怎样备考?

    I study by working with a group. 我通过小组合作学习。

    3. I wanted to sing, but I wasnt confident.我想唱歌,但是我不自信。

    confident 是形容词,意为“有信心的”。常用搭配有be confident of “对……有信心”。

    The students are very confident and happy. 这些学生很自信、很快乐。

    I am very confident of your brother. 我对你哥哥很有自信。

    【拓展】confidence是名词,意为“信心”。

    He answered the question with confidence.

    他自信地回答了那个问题。

    4. Your voice sounds beautiful.你的嗓音听起来很美。

    voice作名词,意为“嗓音”,多指人的说话声或歌唱声。

    The mother tells the story in a soft voice.妈妈以轻柔的声音讲故事。

    Please speak in a louder voice. 请说话声音更大一些。

    【拓展】sound作名词,意为“声音”,可以指任何声音。noise作名词,意为“噪音”,指令人不舒服的声音。

    Light travels faster than sound. 光比声音传播得快。

    There was too much noise in the house.屋子里太吵了。

    5. Believe in yourself. 相信你自己。

    believe in sb.意为“相信某人”,指信赖或信任某人的人格、力量等。

    I believe in Lucy because she is my best friend.

    我信赖露西,因为她是我最好的朋友。

    【拓展】believe sb.意为“相信某人”,指相信某人或某人说的话。

    You shouldnt believe him. He always lies.

    你不应该相信他。他总是撒谎。

    6. I felt my heart beating so fast!我感觉我的心跳得非常快!

    feel sb./sth. doing sth.意为“感觉某人/物正在做某事”。

    I feel the cat shaking on the floor.我感觉这只猫在地上颤抖。

    【拓展】see, watch, notice, look at, hear等后面加动词原形,表示动作的完整性、真实性;后面加动词-ing形式表示动作的连续性、进行性。

    I saw him work in the garden yesterday.

    昨天我看见他在花园里干活了。(强调“我看见了”这个事实)

    When I passed by yesterday, I saw him working in the garden.

    昨天当我经过时,我看到他正在花园里干活。(强调“我见他正干活”这个动作)
