    Lesson 42: The New Club

    设计说明

    首先通过跟同学们讨论关于爱好的问题导入新课。接着,利用图片和例句学习本课节的词汇,并跟读练习。然后,通过听音频选正确答案进入本课课文的初步学习;再通过阅读回答问题、阅读完成短文、阅读找短语并翻译等一系列活动进一步学习本课内容。之后,处理课本中剩余的练习题,并讲解本课中的重要知识点。本课节先通过词汇的教学为后面的学习扫清障碍,再由浅及深地展开对课文的学习,最后,通过当堂达标的习题检测学生的掌握情况。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:real, support, daily

    掌握句子:I showed my stamp collection to the class.

          Our teacher says that gardening is enjoyable and easy to learn.

          Everyone can take part in gardening.

          Jenny and I joined the club. So did most of our classmates!

    2.能力目标

    (1)掌握本课重点单词、短语和句子;

    (2)能用英语向他人介绍新的俱乐部。

    3.情感目标

    学会听取别人的警告。

    1.重点掌握本课重点单词、短语和句子。

    2.难点能用英语向他人介绍新的俱乐部。

    PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Warming up

    Have a free talk.

    Ask students some questions about hobbies. Ask them to speak out their opinions.

    Q1: Do you think it’s important to have a hobby? Why?

    Q2: Do you think good friends always have the same hobbies? Why or why not?

    Step 2  Presentation  

    1. Teach the new words real, daily and support by using the pictures and making sentences.

     

     

    2. Read the new words at least three times and try to remember them.

      real  adj. 真正的,确实的

    daily  adj. 每日的;日常的   adv.每日;每天

    support  v. & n. 支持;拥护;鼓励

    Step 3  Listening

    Play the recording of the lesson for the class to listen and choose the right answer to the question.

    What’s Brian’s hobby?

    Answer: C

    Step 4  Reading

    1. Get the class to read the lesson carefully and answer the following questions. (Lets Do It! No. 1)

      (1) What is Jenny’s hobby?

    (2) What does Brian’s teacher say about gardening?

    (3) What is Jenny’s good idea?

    (4) Who joined the gardening club?

    2. Get some students to answer the questions and speak out the basis of their answer in the text.

      For example:

     

    Answers: (1) Her hobby is gardening.

    (2) Brian’s teacher says that gardening is enjoyable and easy to learn.

    (3) They should organize a gardening club.

    (4) Jenny, Brian and most of their classmates. 

    3. Get the class to listen and read the lesson again and fill the following passage.

         Yesterday everybody b_______ his or her favourite hobby to school. Danny showed a r_______ family tree. Brian showed his stamp c_______ in class. Brian r_______ enjoyed Jenny’s hobby. Her hobby is gardening. Last summer, she g_______ lots of wonderful f_______ vegetables and brought some to school. Their teacher said gardening was e________ and easy to learn.     4. Ask students to try to retell the passage.

    5. Get the class to read the lesson again and find the following phrases. Then ask them to translate them into Chinese.

    Step 5  Practice

    1. Get the class to complete the exercise 2 of Lets Do It!.

    First ask students to read the dialogue and then play the recording, and ask them to complete the dialogue. Then check the answers as a class.

    Yang Hao: Hi Xiaolin! Your flowers are ________! You’re good at

               gardening. Would it be easy for me to learn?

    Tao Xiaolin: Yes ! Anyone can learn.

    Yang Hao: Great! I want to ________ my own flowers! Then I could _________ my own flowers to school, too.

    Tao Xiaolin: Sure! Why not ________ our club? We can study________

                 together,  and we can have a school garden next year.

    1. Get the class to complete the exercise 3 of Lets Do It!.

      Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the given words.

    (3) My grandpa sometimes reads the China _________ when he is free, and he works in his small garden_________.(day)

    Step 6  Group work

    1. Ask students to work in groups to talk about gardening with the help of the following tips.

    Task tips:

    Do you like gardening?

    Do you think it is easy or hard?

    Do you have any gardening knowledge(知识)?

    Would you like to join a gardening club?

    What would you like to plant—trees, flowers or vegetables?

    2. Then let students write a short passage about gardening and present it to the classmates.

    Step 7  Language points

    Jenny and I joined the club. So did most of our classmates!

    我和詹妮参加了这个俱乐部。我们的大多数同学也参加了!

    So +系动词 be/助动词/情态动词+主语.  ……也这样

    (表示前面所说的情况也适于后者)

     1) I have a computer. So does she. 我有一台电脑,她也有一台。

     2) They enjoyed the story book. So did I .

       他们喜欢这本故事书,我也喜欢。

     3) Daming is a good student. So is Lingling.

       大明是个好学生,玲玲也是。

    【拓展】

    如果表示前面叙述的否定情况也适用于后者,用Neither/Nor +助动词/系动词be/情态动词+主语.,表示……也不,注意前后主语不是同一个人。

    My brother won’t go to the zoo. Neither/Nor will I.

    我哥哥不去动物园了,我也不去了。

    They can’t play the violin. Neither/Nor can we.

    他们不会拉小提琴,我们也不会。

    Step 8  Homework

    1. Remember the new words and expressions learnt in this lesson.

    2. Write a short passage about gardening.
