    Lesson 33: Let’s Go to the Zoo!

     

    设计说明

    首先, 用一组动物的图画问答引入话题,接着,学习本课节的生词并进行练习。然后,通过录音回答问题进入本课的学习。再次,通过阅读圈出单词、阅读回答问题、阅读找出短语等来层层加深对对话的学习,并要求学生表演对话。最后,总结课堂内容,并进行自我检测。整节课遵循“学练结合,层层递进,练习提升”的原则,最终使学生掌握所学内容。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:dream, noise, lion, lonely, miss, forest, course

    短语:go to the zoo, make noises, of course

    2.能力目标

    能谈论不同的动物,描述它们的外貌特征和正在做的事情。

    3.情感目标

    了解动物,保护动物,做动物的好朋友。

    重点难点

    1. 重点本课节重点单词和短语;

    理解并朗读对话。

    2. 难点:能用现在进行时谈论正在做的事情。

    教学准备

    PPT 课件;课文音频动物图片。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Warming up

    1. Show some pictures about animals.

    Ask the students to ask and answer like this:

     

    A: What animals can you see in the picture?

    B: I can see...

     

    2. Ask the students to think about this question: What other animals do you know? Get some students to give their answers.

    Step 2  Presentation

    Teach the new words dream, noise, lion, lonely, miss, forest and course by asking the students to read them aloud. Make sure the students can pronounce the words correctly and know their meanings.

      

    lion /ˈlaɪən/ n. 狮子          forest /ˈfɒrɪst/ n. 森林

    noise /nɔɪz/ n. 响声;噪音     

    make noises 吵闹

    dream /driːm/ v. 做梦 n.梦;梦想

    lonely /ˈləʊnlɪ/ adj. 孤独的

    miss /mɪs/ v. 想念;错过

    course /kɔːs/ n. 过程;经过  of course 当然

    Step 3  Practice

    Ask the students to read and match each word with its meaning.

    dream                 森林

    noise          孤独的

    lion          过程;经过

    lonely          梦;梦想做梦

    miss          想念;错过

    forest         响声;噪音

    course          狮子

    Answers:

    dream                 森林

    noise          孤独的

    lion          过程;经过

    Step 4  Listening and answering

    Get the class to listen to the dialogue of the lesson, and answer the questions.

    1. Where do you think Danny and Jenny are?

    2. What animals do they see?

    Answers: 1. They may be in the zoo.

            2. They see monkeys, the panda, the tiger, the elephant, birds and the lion.

    Step 5  Reading and circling

    Get the class to read the lesson and circle the correct words. ( Let’s Do It! No. 2)

    1. The tiger is (hungry / tired / sad).

    2. The lion is (lonely / sick/ hungry).

    3. The panda is (lonely / happy / cute).

    4. The birds are (quiet / happy / hungry).

    5. The elephant is (eating / dreaming / singing).

    Answers: 1. hungry 2. lonely 3. cute 4. happy 5. dreaming

    Step 6  Reading and answering

    1. Get the class to read the first part of the lesson and then answer the questions.

    (1) What are the monkeys eating?

    (2) Is the panda eating meat?

    (3) Which animal is eating meat?

    (4) What is the elephant doing?

    Answers(1) They are eating bananas. (2) No, it isn’t.

    (3)The tiger. (4) It’s sleeping/dreaming.

    2. Get the class to read the second part of the lesson and then answer the questions.

    (1) What are the birds doing?

    (2) How is the lion?

    Answers: (1) They are singing. (2) He looks lonely.

    Step 7  Reading, finding and translating

    Get the students to read the dialogue and find the following phrases, and then translate them.

    1. go to the zoo

    2. look cute/ lonely

    3. over there

    4. make noises

    5. look at

    6. of course

    Answers: 1. 去动物园 2. 看起来可爱/孤独 3. 在那边 4. 吵闹

    5.  6. 当然

    Step 8  Listening and acting

    1. Get the class to read the dialogue following the recording.

    2. Get them to read in pairs.

    3. Get some pairs to act it out.

    Step 9  Summary

    Review the following sentences learnt in this lesson with the whole class.

    1. He looks cute/ lonely.

    2. The lion/panda/elephant is lonely/hungry/happy/quiet.

    Step 10  Exercises

    1. Get the students to listen to the statements and circle the correct pictures. ( Let’s Do It! No. 1 )

           

    2. Check the answers.

      Answers:

    2. Ask the students to read the passage. Circle the animal words and underline the present continuous tense. ( Let’s Do It! No. 3)

    There is a lion at the zoo. He is not feeling happy. He is lonely. He wants to play with the other animals. He goes to visit the elephant. But she is tried. She is sleeping. So the lion goes to see the pandas. But they are hungry. They are eating. Then the lion goes to talk with the tigers. But they are not there. Finally, the lion visits the monkeys. They are playing! They are having fun! The lion is happy. He has some friends to play with.

    Answers:

     Circled: elephant, pandas, tigers, monkeys

     Underlined: is sleeping, are eating, are playing, are having fun

    2. Teacher says: Work in groups. Interview your classmates about their favourite animals and fill in the table.

    Step 11  Language points

    1. They are making noises。他们正在吵闹。

      make noises意为吵闹noise此处用作可数名词,意为响声;噪音noise也可用作不可数名词。

      Don’t make any noises. 不要弄出响声。

      The children are making so much noise.孩子们正在吵吵闹闹。

    辨析:noise, soundvoice

       

    The noise makes us nervous. 这噪音使我们很焦虑。

    The sound of the running water is nice. 流水的声音很美。

    Her voice is very beautiful. 她的嗓音很动听。

    2. He looks lonely! 他看起来很孤独!

     (1) look此处用作连系动词,意为看起来,后面通常接形容词作表语。

      The girls look happy.

      这些女孩子看上去很高兴。

      (2) lonely形容词,意为孤独的,强调心理或情感上孤单。

      He feels lonely in the house.

      他在这所房子里感觉很孤独。

      [拓展]

    alone副词,意为孤独;独自,强调客观上没有其他人陪伴。

      She lives alone, but she never feels lonely.

      她一个人生活,但从未感到孤独。

    3. Maybe he is missing the forest. 可能他正在想念森林。

     miss作动词,意为想念

      Tony is in Beijing now and he misses his parents very much.

      托尼现在在北京,他非常想念他的父母。

      (1) miss作动词,意为错过;未赶上

      Hurry up! Or we’ll miss the early bus.

      (2) Miss作名词,意为小姐;女士

    4. in a tree 在树上

     辨析:in a / the treeon a / the tree

      Can you see the birds in the tree?

      你能看到树上的鸟吗?

      There are some beautiful flowers on the tree.

      在树上有一些美丽的花。

    Step 12  Homework

    1. Remember the new words learnt in this lesson.

    2. Write a passage about your favourite animal.

    3. Preview Lesson 34.
