12. Taste

（1） n  味道

（2） v. 尝起来…   The dish tastes delicious.这道菜味道很好（感官动词+adj）

相似的用法还有smell.

（3） n 气味

   Many people don’t like the smell of durian.很多人不喜欢榴莲的味道。

（4） v. 闻，嗅

   The meat smells nice，but tastes terrible.这肉闻起来很香，但尝起来很糟糕。

形容词的用法：形容词修饰名词，放在名词的前面； 修饰be动词、系动词（get, become, appear等）构成系表结构 放在be动词的后面；修饰感官动词（look，smell，taste, sound, feel）放在感官动词的后面。

（1） v.  仍然是，保持不变

（remain +adj）=keep

（2）v. 逗留=stay

14、I will never forget the taste, and the smell as well. 我将永远不会忘记那种味道和气味。

  （1）as well意为“除……之外，也，还”。和too的意思相近。

      Eg：He knows English, and he knows French as well.他懂英语，还懂法语。

  （2） 辨析：as well<too>，also, either

        as well<too>常用于口语，多置于肯定句句末。Eg：I can swim, too<as well>.

        also, 置于动词之前，助动词、be动词之后，常用于句中。Eg：He also wants to go.

        either,常用于否定句句尾。Eg：He doesn’t want to go, either.他也不想去。

He speaks English and Spanish as well.

= He speaks English and Spanish, too.

= He speaks English and he also speaks Spanish.

Never give up 是祈使句. 句子结构是：祈使句+ and +句子（一般将来时，表达结果）

   Father's Day has a very short history. It was started because there was a Mother's Day, and just because some Americans thought that if we had a Mother's Day, we should also have a Father's Day.
