设计说明

首先通过老师本人童年时和现在生活的比较导入新课，然后引申到月光镇在交通、环境的变化，通过图片学习生词。展示月光镇过去和现在的两张图片，让学生比较并能用英文描述不同之处。然后阅读Part B部分回答问题，并根据Part B完成Part C的内容。在分析文章结构之后给出写作实例，并指导学生仿写家乡变化的文章。

Step 1　Lead-in

Show some pictures about my childhood. Then compare it with the present.

Step 2　Presentation

Show some pictures. Talk about the changes in your hometown and teach the new words.

1. Show them two pictures about the past and present in Moonlight Town and ask students to describe the changes in environment, transport and life.

Show the whole passage and circle the main phrases like “in the past, years ago, but now ” and tell students that we can use comparison to describe the changes.

Step 6　Writing

1. How to write a report about the changes in your hometown?

(1) Have a clear structure.

Introduction      (topic)

Main body (facts)  Environment, Life, Transport

Conclusion        (opinion)

(2) Use the proper tense.

(3) Think of some useful words and expressions.

2. Talk about the changes in your hometown—the city of Lianyungang. Show some pictures and give some key vocabulary:

old and quiet, busy and modern；

old houses, new tall flats；

narrow roads by bicycle or on foot, wide roads take the bus, the taxi or the train(high speed train)

3. Show the fact file.

4. Give some advice before writing.

(1) Have a clear structure introduction, main body and conclusion.

(2) Use facts to support your opinions.

(3) Use proper phrases and tenses.  

(4) Pay attention to your handwriting, spelling and grammar.

5. Get students to write the article. Then choose some to present and correct the mistakes.

6. Show the sample writing.

Many changes have taken place in Lianyungang over the years.

    Lianyungang used to be a very quiet city with green trees everywhere. The air was fresh and clean. Now, we can see many tall buildings and wide roads. There is a new railway station, too. Lian-Yan High-speed Railway has been in use. It’s exciting to see that Lianyungang is becoming a modern city.

    Years ago, most people lived in small old houses. They used to listen to the radio or watch TV in their free time. But now most families have computers. They can surf the Internet. Moreover, a lot of people like to go out and enjoy the latest films in the cinema.

    In the past, people could only travel by bus or bicycle. But now they can go around by bus, taxi, train or plane. In the near future, they can even travel by underground. It’s fast and easy to travel to Lianyungang.

    In a word, life in Yangzhou is better now than before. I’m proud of Lianyungang.
