    UNIT SEVEN   WHICH BIRTH-YEAR ANIMAL ARE YOU ?

    一、教背景和学情分析:

    (一)本单元话题和相关语言知识

    本单元以中国生肖为话题展开学习。学习的主要知识点是能听懂、会说询问、谈论有关中国生肖的交际用语,如:---Which birth-year animal are you? ---What are oxen like?学生能正确运用十二个属相名词及描述性格的形容词就自己和他人的生肖及性格进行问答、交流。

    (二)相关内容的上位知识分析以及本单元教学重难点

    学生在一二年级已经学过大部分的动物名称;在三、五年级上学期学过关于出生年月及属相的句型:When were you born?He was born in the year of the horse.有了这两个句型的支持,本单元知识就是一种巩固与延伸。基于以上分析,把本单元的教学重点定位为:学生能正确运用十二个属相的名词单复数形式及描述性格的形容词就自己和他人的生肖及性格进行语言表达、交流。教学难点能把学到的关于生肖的交际用语正确运用到日常口语的交流中。

    (三)各单元、各课知识点之间的联系、整合、铺垫与延伸

    本单元在本册书中相对独立,但三节课之间的联系是很紧密的。首先从单词来看,十二个属相的名称按顺序以每四个为一组的形式分别在三节课中出现,但因为学生已经在一、二年级学过大部分的动物名称,所以我们可以把十二属相的名称做一个整合处理,提到第一课时先学,不必按课本安排走。其次是从功能句型来说也是步步深入的。第一课是询问某人生肖及回答,首先接触了十二属相的名称,为后两课做铺垫。后两课进一步学习了各个属相的象征意义,是第一课的巩固与延伸。

    (四)本单元知识点、考点的梳理

    1句型:

    功能句型:

    ---Which birth-year animal are you?

    ---I was born in the year of the Tiger.

    ---Youre generous and popular.

    ---What are oxen like?

    --- They are hardworking .

    重点句子:(黑体词常常用于选择)

    ---Chinese years are named after twelve animals.

    ---The cycle of years starts with the Rat.

    ---We believe each animal has its own traits. People born in the year may have the same traits.

    ---Im happy to be a dragon.

    ---In China , we have birth-year animal stamps at the beginning of each year.

    ---So do we in Canada.

     

    2)词汇:

    四会词汇:

    名词:  rat, ox, rabbit, dragon, snake, sheep, pigcycle, trait, stamp,

    形容词:shy, polite, brave, wise, hardworking, clever, honest,

    动词:  start, believe,

    19个四会词语,让学生学会单词的拼读及拼写的窍门,重点掌握单词中的元音或字母组合的发音。

    认读词汇:

    charming, sociable, brightquiet , calm, patient, confident, greedy popular, generous, inconsistentclever,attrsctive, humoroustalkative, cheerful, caring, gentle charming, cheeky, creative, loyal,quick-witted

    faithful, punctual. Proud, honest, likeabletrusting, peace-loving.

     

    3)语法:

    a. 能正确对本单元的形容词、名词、动词进行归类;

    b. 注意名词的单复数形式,尤其是oxoxen, sheep---sheep; 

    c. 重视对人称代词he, she, I ,they, it, you, we,物主代词his, her, its, my, your,宾格me, them的使用及问答转换;

    d. 正确使用基数词和序数词进行表达。

    e. 能正确使用be 动词的is, am ,are , was, were形式进行问答转换。

     

    4)语音:

    本单元除了掌握 pl , pr,的发音,并能正确拼读课本上58页所给的词例外,继续巩固学习常见元音及字母组合的发音,如本单元的四会单词中出现的 a, e, i, o, y ,ai ,ar, ee, on, ie等的发音,教师要不断强调,强化记忆,让学生学会并运用于平日的单词学习中,对学生快速掌握单词有着很重要的意义,起到一种“授之以渔”而不是“授之以鱼”的作用。

     

    二、本单元具体教学目标:

     

    知识技能目标

    1听懂、会说、询问、谈论有关中国生肖的交际用语,能正确运用十二个属相名词及描述性格的形容词就自己和他人的生肖及性格进行语言表达、交流

    2听、说、读、写本单元的19个单词,认读12组形容词,并能正确归类

    3复习巩固数词的用法并正确用数词进行表达。

    4流利的朗读课文并能背诵及表演对话。

    5借助录音读懂故事,完成练习。

    一、    教学内容

    1. 主题课文

    ---Chinese years are named after twelve animals. Do you know the twelve animals?

    ---I know some of them, but not all.

    ---The cycle of years starts with the Rat.

    ---Which birth-year animal are you?

    ---Iwas born in the year of the Tiger. What about you?

    ---I think Im a rabbit.

    1. 词汇:

    cycle--- 周期   start--- 开始     rat--- 老鼠     ox---

    rabbit---兔子    shy--- 羞怯的   polite--- 有礼貌的

    二、教学目标

    (一)知识与技能

    1正确理解课文,能较流利朗读课文。

    2、能听、说、读、写cycle, start, rat, ox, rabbit, shy, polite 等词语;同时渗透单词的语音教学。

    3能听懂、会说Which birth-year animal are you?及其答语,并能初步运用。

     

    (二)过程与方法

    1、通过日常口语交流,既复习旧知,又自然引入课堂教学。

    2通过听课文录音来回答问题增强对课文的理解。

    3通过初步操练听懂、会说、询问某人生肖的交际用语,突破难点,为下一课时的操练做准备

    4、通过单词及课文的完形填空,加深对单词及课文的学习。

    (三)情感态度价值观

    通过询问某人的生肖及回答,使学生初步了解关于中国生肖的知识,同时懂得关于自身的一些情况初步了解中西方文化的差异。

    2. 对话: 正确理解课文内容,能正确朗读课文。

    活动一:日常口语

    3)  T:  I was born in the year of the Rat.   My daughter was born in the year of the Rabbit.  My husband was born in the year of the Pig.

    活动目标:学生通过复习有关出生年月的语言,能够根据问句做出正确的回答。并顺势引入新课。

    设计意图:学生通过复习旧知识When were you born?  I She /Hewas born同时预习新知识I was born in the year of the Rat.

    (二)Presentation and practice

    活动一:学习新单词

    活动目标:通过各种方法跟读,单词接龙的方法,快速有效的学习本课四会单词。

    实施方法及师生预设语言:

    1. 读课文并挑出新词;

    T: Lets read the dialogue quickly. This time you should try to understand the dialogue, meanwhile please find the new words.

    Ss read the dialogue quickly and find the new words. Then teacher helps them to deal with the new words.

    单词接龙

    TFirst lets read the new word following the tape.

    Ss: cycle, start, rat, ox, rabbit, shy, polite,

    T: Now lets read the new words together

    Ss: cycle, start, rat, ox, rabbit, shy, polite,

    T: OK, now, lets read the new words one by one. Remember when you meet an unknown word, please listen to the next person carefully, and then you read it again.

    Ss read the words.

    设计意图:通过各种方法学习新单词的读音及意义,并加强语音教学

    活动二:学习新对话

    活动目标:学生通过各种活动熟悉理解新对话的内容。

    实施方法及师生预设语言:

    听对话回答问题

    T: Please close your book and I will play the tape. You please listen to the tape and answer the questions.

    Ss listen to the tape and try to answer the questions.

    T: What are they talking about?

    Ss: They are talking about the birth-year animal.

    T:  Which birth-year animal is Yangyang?

    Ss:  He was born in the year of the Tiger./ He is a tiger.

    T:  Which birth-year animal is Sara?

    Ss:  She is a rabbit..

    ⑵听录音,跟读课文。

    T: Let’s listen to the tape and read the dialogue following the tape.

    Then they listen and read the dialogue. And deal with the unknown words by asking others.

    T: I will play the tape again, and this time you should read the dialogue with tape.

    Ss read the dialogue with the tape but more softly to listen to the tape clearly.

    活动三:课文操练

    活动目标:学生通过各种活动理解掌握新对话的内容,并能初步进行对话表演

    实施方法及师生预设语言:

    (1)小组朗读

    TThere are six sentences. Each group read one sentence, and the last sentence we read it together.

    Ss read the dialogue.

    (2) 两人练习

    T: Please read this dialogue in pairs, and after you read it youll show it in pairs.

    Ss practice the text in pairs. And act it after practicing.

    (三)Production

    活动:创编新对话

    活动目标:学生通过和同学的合作创编新的对话,以加强对对话的理解和掌握。

    实施方法及师生预设语言:

    3能听懂、会说Which birth-year animal are you? 及其答语,并能在询问、谈论某人生肖的中运用。

    (二)过程与方法

    1. 通过在情境中听,说,读、写四会单词,加深对单词的学习。

    2. 通过功能句型地操练,进一步突破难点。

    3. 通过听力练习,进一步提高听力技巧。

    (三)情感态度价值观

    通过询问、谈论生肖,初步了解人与生肖之间的关系,同时使学生懂得关心身边的亲人及了解中西方文化的差异。

    1.重点:询问及回答某人生肖句型的灵活用。

    2.难点:能正确认读表示性格的形容词并能对相应动物进行简单的性格描述。能够正确理解Read and write 中的句子意思,并准确地用所学四会词填空。

    (一)Revision

    活动一:对话表演

    活动目标:学生通过练习,尽可能的做到复述课文,或者能自己创编小对话。

    实施方法及师生预设语言

    学生两人一组表演对话或自创小对话,但是尽可能的不要看书。对于学困生可以适当的放松要求。

    TI’ll let some of you to act the dialogue with book. Who wants to do it, please raise your hand.

    Ss: Let me try.

    设计意图:学生通过这个活动对刚学过的课文进行简单的复习。有能力的同学在此基础上可以适当的灵活应用已学知识。

    (二)Presentation and practice

    活动一:Lets practice

    1.谈话引入:

    T: I was born in the year of the Rat. I like rats. Because their traits are happy, charming, sociable, and bright.  Do you know the others animals traits? Lets see.

    2.认读以下单词并弄懂意思

    1)Look and read the following words:

    Rat,     happy, charming, sociable, and bright,

    Ox,     hardworking, quiet, calm, patient, and shy,

    Tiger,   brave, confident, and loving,

    Rabbit,  shy, kind, polite, patient, and not greedy

    2)解释charming, sociablecalm, patientconfidentgreedy几个单词的意思并指导拼读。

    3)教给学生ox-oxen的特殊变化。

    3.练一练

    1)开展pair work,学生分角色轮流朗读书上的问答,注意句中的黑体字部分。

    2)师示范做替换,同桌学生练习用其他词替换黑体字进行替换练习。鼓励学生用形容词去描述各个属相的特性。如:I /He/She was born in the year of the Rat. I like rats. Because their traits/they are happy, charming, sociable, and bright.

    活动二:Listen and choose

    活动目标:通过听力练习,进一步提高学生的听力技巧

    实施方法及师生预设语言:

    1. T: Lets read the letters quickly.

    2. TIll play the tape. Please listen to the tape, and lets whether the answers you got just now is the right answers.

    Ss: Listen to the tape carefully, and tick or cross.

    T: Now lets check the answers. And you should recite the whole sentence when you say your answers.

    Ss read the sentences, and they try to remember the knowledge about Adjective Comparative Degree.

    T: Now please do the exercises. Then well check the answers.

    Answers:

       It will start at 2:30 this afternoon.
