T：OK.Well done！Now this lesson we will learn a car accident.Are you ready?
设计意图：此环节利用图片，通过师生间的对话导入本课的话题“车祸”，利用会话将学生带入车祸现场，预热本课的词汇和句型。
环节2
1.Teach the words，phrases and practice the sentence patterns.
2.Listen and read after the video of the article on page 36.
3.Do Exercise 1 on Page 37.
4.Work in group of 8 to find out the key words，phrases and sentences in this article.
5.The teacher explain the article for the students. Then ask them to do the Exercise 2.
6.Check the answers.

(1)The accident happened at about 7：30 a.m.事故的发生时间大概是早上七点。
accident名词，“事故”，常作happen的主语，表示某人发生了什么事用what happened to sb.。
（2）She and her brother，James，were on their way to an early basketball practice.
她和她的弟弟詹姆斯正在去篮球练习的路上。
on one’s way to...在去……的路上。to遇到副词要省略。
（3）“We were in a hurry，”James told the reporter.“我们当时很着急，”詹姆斯告诉记者。
in a hurry匆忙地。reporter名词，“记者”，其动词为report。[来源:ZXXK]
（4）We didn’t want to be late for practice.我们不想练习迟到。
be late for...……迟到。

安德鲁斯夫人，就在这两个学生后面走着，看见了事故的发生。
句子结构：本句是由who引导的非限定性定语从句，定语从句和先行词之间的关系不是很密切时用非限定性定语从句。saw it happen句式为see sb. do sth.看见某人做某事。
（6）And the street was icy—the car couldn’t stop in time.道路上都是冰，车不能及时停住。
icy形容词，“有冰的”，其名词形式为ice“冰”。in time及时。
（7）I wanted to stop her from running after the ball，but she didn’t hear me.
我想阻止她追球，但她没听到我。
stop her from running...句式为：stop sb. from doing sth.阻止某人做某事。
（8）Doctors say she can expect to return to school in about a week.医生说她一周后可以回校。
expect动词，“期望；期待”，后常接to do不定式作宾语。
设计意图：学生应是学习的主体，教师要努力调动学生学习的积极性和主动性，通过组内合作讨论，探究，找出对话中的重点短语和句子，把所学的知识转化为学习能力。
