    This is the sixth perid f the unit.As usual,the teacher will d sme revisin.Fr Part 2 n Page 57,the teacher can ask individual student t cme t the blackbard and write ne sentence each.Then ask several ther Ss t crrect the mistakes,if there are any,and ask them t give reasns.Thrugh these activities,Ss are given nt nly translatin exercises,but als prfreading exercises,in which the mistakes are the typical nes made by Ss themselves.By checking the exercise,the teacher can find ut what Ss are still nt quite familiar with and needs t be imprved and make sme necessary change f his/her teaching plans.
    In this perid still Ss will be given sme listening tasks—Part 4 f Jurnal Dwn the Mekng and Part 5 n Page 58.
    Ss will als d sme extensive reading,which will help them get a general idea abut the three cuntries in the Mekng Delta—Las,Cambdia and Vietnam.
    After that,the teacher will talk abut a few phrases and an imprtant structure in this passage.

    T:First I’ll ask ten students t cme t the blackbard and write ne sentence each.

    Ten students cme t the blackbard and write dwn the ten sentences.
    T:We will see if these sentences are OK.Let’s talk abut them sentence by sentence.
    If there are any mistakes,please stand up and pint them ut and tell us why.
    Step 3 Listening

    T:Befre we start,yu’d better g thrugh these wrds t see if yu can prnunce them very well.Our first task is t tick the wrds yu hear n the tape.

    “Be tired frm” means “becme tired because f” while “be tired f” means “be uninterested in”.Lk at the tw sentences:

    S:I think we use “frm” in Sentence 1 and use “f” in Sentence 2.

    The suthwest regin f Vietnam is knwn fr the vast rice fields and the huge plantatins that make up the cre f this regin’s ecnmy.The regin is als knwn fr the many miles f waterways criss-crssing the land making this area bth fertile and unique.
    The peple in this regin are made up f Vietnamese and sme peple f Khmer,Chinese and Cham rigin.This accunts fr the variety f religins that add t the cultural diversity f this area.Amng the religins practiced here are:Buddhism,Cathlicism,Ca Dai,Ha Ha and Islam.
    The rchards are divided by a myriad f small irrigatin canals with delicate bamb bridges called “Cau Khi” r mnkey bridges crssing them.
    Can Th is a busy prt capable f accmmdating large ships frm neighbring cuntries.Hau Giang r Hau River is the main channel that passes thrugh Can Th.The land mass surrunding the river was develped very early s the ppulatin in this area is prbably the largest in all f the Delta regin.The land here is said t be the mst fertile because f the depsits frm the varius branches f the river.
