     When we speak or write, we can use formal or informal language.

    1.The situation we use

    Formal language is used in serious situations.

    Informal language is used in casual occasions.

    We use formal language with our teachers or unfamiliar people.

    We use informal language with our friends.

    英语正式文体的语法特征是遣词造句时构思严密、语法结构完整、不出现省略句、省略词及缩略形式;沿用传统规范的语法规则、句子平稳、严谨.

    英语非正式文体的语法特征是语法规则不十分严谨、句子结构松散、不对语言进行雕琢、达意即可,使用系动词、助动词和情态动词的缩略形式、运用省略句与省略虚词,采用俚语、俗语等.

      T: Its time for you to write an article. First, you should decide the person you want to write about. Look for information through the Internet, books or magazines. Remember to make some notes before writing. 

    T: With a clear structure and good expressions, Amy makes her article wonderful. When you write, you can also try to use the following conjunctions and expressions to make your article different.

     Conjunctions may be used: when, because, so, so that, so that , moreover, however  

    Expressions may be used:

      (1) one of the greatest people that have ever lived

    (2) speak highly of

    (3) sb who fought for

      (4) at the age of

    (5) That is why I admire him most.
