Step 2 Presentation&Practice Read and tick or cross 1.Present pictures.And ask the pre-story questions.Today we’ll read a letter.Who is it from?Who is it to?Guide them to find the answers by looking at the pictures and words.It’s from Wang Ke. He is writing the letter to his grandpa. 3.Ask questions.Elicit as much information about the story as you need.eg.Where is Wang Ke.Where is his grandpa?What’s the letter about?Elicit the answer Wang Ke is in the city.His grandpa is on a farm/in the country.Focus on the words city and country.The letter is about a hat,the food,a dog and some ducks. 4.Watch the video.The Ss listen and watch. 5.Read the story.Perform actions to reinforce the meaning. 6.Pay attention to the sentences Thank you for….in the city,in the country,miss,write soon.Make sure the Ss understand the meaning. 7.Play the tape.Ss listen to and repeat it.Encourage the Ss to perform actions as they repeat. 8.Have the Ss finish the task. 9.Have Ss pay much attention to the format of a letter.
