It was a very hard time fr them. Jasn’s classmates heard the bad news. They std up and said, “Jasn, dn’t be afraid. We are with yu.” The class wanted t help Jasn and his family. S they came up with a plan.

    We can help the pr in s many ways. Even the smallest effrt cunts (有价值; 有重要意义) and that can be achieved with the fllwing steps: vlunteer (志愿者), dnate and fundraise (募捐).Vlunteering is the easiest way t give yur time t anther persn in need.
    Dnating mney can be dne cmfrtably n any budget (预算), because every penny cunts. Fundraising can be challenging (挑战的), but the reward (报答) in the end makes all the hard wrk wrth (值得) it. Whether yu are helping the pr in yur cmmunity (社区) r the pr arund the wrld, yu are ding a gd deed (行为) and helping thse less frtunate (幸运的).

    1.Jasn Glen is a 12­year­ld by frm Riverside High Schl. a 12­year­ld by一个12岁的男孩。其中12­year­ld是复合形容词,结构为“基数词+连词符+名词单数+形容词”,这种复合形容词只能用来放在名词前作定语。需要注意的是,不管数词是几,结构中的名词只能用单数,不能用复数。如:five­day hliday五天的假期;100­metre­tall bridge一百米高的桥。
    2.On the first day f schl,smething terrible happened. (1)[辨析]时间介词n、in与atn在星期几、具体某一天、具体某一天的上午/下午/晚上的前面使用。如:We will g hiking in the muntains n Saturday.我们周六要去山里徒步。in在泛指的上午/下午/晚上、月份、季节、年份、世纪等非具体某一天的前面使用。如:in the mrning在早上;in summer在夏天;in the 21st century在二十一世纪。at在具体的某一时刻或者某些固定搭配中使用。如:at 7:25在七点二十五分;at nn在中午;at midnight在午夜。
    (2)smething terrible一件可怕的事情。当形容词用来修饰复合不定代词时要放在代词的后面。其中terrible是形容词,意为“可怕的,非常严重的”。其副词为terribly(极其,可怕地)。如:Hw terrible the strm is!这场风暴真是太可怕了!
    3.Jasn Glen and his family lst everything in a big huse fire. (1)lst是动词lse的过去式,意为“失去,丢失”。它通常指因为事故、不幸、过失等失去某人或者某物。lst还可作形容词,意为“丢失的;迷失的”。常用短语:lse heart 灰心,失去信心;lse ne's life 失去某人的生命;lse weight 减肥;be lst in 陷入……,被……吸引住;be/get lst=lse ne's way/lse neself 迷路。如:When did yu lse yur pen?你什么时候把你的钢笔弄丢的?
    (2)fire是名词,意为“火,火灾”。当其表示“火灾”时,是可数名词;表示“火”时,是不可数名词。常用短语:be n fire着火(表状态);catch fire着火(表动作);play with fire玩火;start a fire引起火灾,生火;put ut fire灭火。如:It's dangerus t play with fire.玩火很危险。
    4.Jasn,dn't be afraid. dn't be afraid是一个否定祈使句。它是在以动词原形开头的肯定祈使句前面加上dn't构成。有时为了表示礼貌,可以在句首或者句末加上please。如:Cme in.进来。→Dn't cme in.别进来。其他否定祈使句结构:N+名词/动名词!如:N parking!禁止停车!Let sb d sth! 如:Let's g shpping!我们去购物吧!
    5.S they came up with a plan. cme up with想出,提出(主意、办法、想法等),相当于think up。如:It's difficult fr them t cme up with a new way in such a shrt time.他们很难在这么短的时间内想出新的办法。

    6.The schl had a car wash and a ckie sale. (1)had a car wash意为“洗车”。这里的car作定语修饰名词wash。当名词作定语修饰名词时,主要用来表示材料、类别、用途等。作定语的名词多用单数,但是特殊情况下要用复数,如sprts、clthes等。如:A sprts meet is hlding in ur schl.我校正在举办校运会。(2)sale是名词,意为“出售,销售”。其动词为sell(卖)。常用短语:n sale出售,廉价出售;fr sale出售,待售;a big sale大甩卖。如:This kind f scarf is nt fr sale.这种围巾不出售。
    7.In just three days,the schl raised $1 200. raise是动词,意为“筹集,募集;举起(相当于lift),提高,抬手;养育,种植;建立(相当于set up)”。常用短语:raise mney筹钱。如:They are raising mney fr the students in pr areas.他们正在为贫困地区的学生筹钱。He tries his best t raise his big family.他尽最大的努力养活他一大家子人。
    8.There are many ways t help thers. ways t help thers帮助别人的方式。其中动词不定式作定语,修饰前面的名词ways。当动词不定式作定语修饰名词时,要放在被修饰词的后面。如:Gsh!I have t much hmewrk t d.天啊!我有太多作业要做了。9.Dnate—cllect and give away things likes clthes,fd,tys,bks,etc.give away是动副型短语,意为“赠送,分发”。当代词作其宾语时,要放在give与away之间。如:Yu can give away yur clthes t the charity.你可以把你的衣服捐给慈善机构。
