    S2:Phidippides’ jurney t ask fr help.He was a her t the Greek peple.In rder t remember him,we have the event f marathn race.
    S3:The passing f the Olympic trch.
    Step 2 Making a Survey n Other’s Interests r Hbbies
    Shw sme pictures in which the teacher is ding smething she r he likes t aruse the students’ interest.
    T:Lk at these pictures.What am I ding?
    Ss:Playing table tennis./Playing tennis./Grwing flwers./Feeding fish.
    T:Yes.And they are all my hbbies.What abut yu?D yu have any hbbies?
    (Ask sme students abut their hbbies and the reasn fr their liking.
    Get the students t ask their classmates abut their interests r hbbies.)
    T:Nw I wuld like yu t knw mre abut yur classmates.Please g arund the classrm and interview at least 5 students abut their hbbies and finish the frm.This first student t finish the interview shall get a reward.

    Step 3 Speaking
    Get the students wh have the same hbbies sit tgether and wrk in grups f fur t talk abut their interests.

    Ask each ther these questins:

    Step 4 Writing
    Nw yu knw a lt abut yur hbby.Yu knw what is enjyable abut this hbby,what d yu need fr this hbby,what d yu need t d t imprve the hbby,what can be learned frm the hbby and what difficult yu might have abut the hbby.Nw I wuld like yu t write an article abut yur favurite hbby,try t make it well and clearly rganized.Befre that I will give yu a sample.
    Swimming is my favurite sprt.I like it because it can bring me much fun.The prcess f learning swimming is very interesting.Yu can try different ways f swimming,such as breaststrke and backstrke.Yu can swim at any time f the year if yu like.In ht summer,if yu jump int the river r the sea t have a swim,yu will feel cl and cmfrtable.Even in cld winter,yu can swim if yu are brave enugh.It’s a healthy sprt and it can build up ur bdy.If yu’re a beginner,yu must be careful.Yu’d better nt swim alne and bring life buy with yu in case f danger.If yu want t be a gd swimmer,yu must have a lt f practice and have great determinatin.Explain why this can be a sample(the tpic sentence,the rganizatin and transitinal wrds)
    Then ask them t write a draft in cnsideratin f the discussin.After they finish,exchange their drafts and find sme mistakes fr each ther.
    At last shw sme f their drafts n the slide,pinting ut the mistakes and appreciating the beautiful sentences.
    Step 5 Summary and Hmewrk
    T:Time is running ut.We have t stp here.Tday we talked abut ur hbbies.A hbby can make ur life mre interesting and clrful.I hpe everyne f yu can develp sme hbbies and keep them.
