●2 beginning n. 开始，起初[搭配] in the beginning＝at first 起初，开始at the beginning f 在……的开始A gd beginning is half dne. 良好的开端是成功的一半。At the beginning f the party, we sang a sng tgether.在晚会一开始，我们一起唱了一首歌。
[拓展] 其动词形式是begin，意为“开始”，相当于start, 后可接动词不定式或动词­ing形式作宾语。其常用搭配是begin with，意为“以……开始，从……开始”。He rse up and began t speak. 他站起来开始发言。When did yu begin learning typewriting? 你是什么时候开始学打字的？

(2)当这些词不与具体数字连用，表示不确定的数目时，要用复数，而且其后接介词f。 There are hundreds f peple gathering n the square. 有数以百计的人正聚集在广场上。 (3)当这些词后面的名词前有the, these, thse等表示特指的限定词修饰时，或其后接的是us, them 等人称代词时，必须用介词 f。 Abut three hundred f them have left there. 他们当中约有300人已经离开了那儿。
