    Snw was falling acrss Canadian Rcky Muntains in March, lasting fr days. Frm his hme, Allen watched the weather with cncern. He and his wife, Lucy, had planned t g ut fr hliday, but nw he wndered whether they shuld g. After phning the htel, they decided t make the trip. By the time they neared the htel six hurs later, they were caught in a snwstrm. When they finally arrived, they were bth cld and tired ut. They checked int their rm and went t bed early.
    When they awke the next day, they fund the snw had cntinued vernight. The cars in the parking lt were hidden under the snw. While they were having breakfast, the htel began t shake.An earthquake with a magnitude (震级) f 5.7 had struck the muntain. “Let’s get ut f here!” Allen shuted t his wife. They made their way t the parking lt, where thers were digging ut their cars.
    With mst cars freed by nn, the guests set ff dwn the driveway. But when they reached the main rad, the path was blcked by a tw-meter-high wall f snw. Allen climbed ut f his car t check. There was n rad in sight. “We’re trapped!” he tld his wife. With n ther chice, they made their way back t the htel.
    They managed t get back t the htel befre dark. That was when the snw n the muntain began t slide. They heard the avalanche (雪崩) befre they saw it. The avalanche gathered speed, taking away rcks and trees and anything else in its way as it flwed dwn the muntain, tearing the htel frm its fundatin. When the avalanche came t a stp, thse trapped inside the htel were buried in the icy ruins.
