In 2020, Pink launched the Wrld Regret Survey, the largest survey n the tpic ever undertaken. With his research team, Pink asked mre than 15, 000 peple in 105 cuntries, “Hw ften d yu lk back n yur life and wish yu had dne things differently?” Mst f them said regret was at least an ccasinal part f their life. Abut 21 percent said they felt regretful all the time. Only 1 percent said they never felt regretful.
If yu are f the “n regrets” schl f life, yu may think that all this regret is a recipe fr unhappiness. But that isn’t the case. Letting yurself be verwhelmed by regret is indeed bad fr yu. But ging t the ther extreme may be even wrse. T extinguish yur regrets desn’t free yu frm shame r srrw but causes yu t make the same mistakes again and again. T truly get ver ur guilt requires that we put regret in its prper place.
Uncmfrtable as it is, regret is an amazing cgnitive(认知的) feature. It requires that yu g back t a past scene. Imagine that yu acted differently t change it, and with that new scene in mind, arrive at a different present-and then, cmpare that fictinal present with the ne yu are experiencing in reality. Nt all regrets are the same, f curse. Pink says they cme in fur basic types, and an instance f regret may invlve just ne cmbinatin.
Many cnnectin regrets verlap (重叠) with mral regrets, which can cme abut after yu g against yur wn values. Fr example, yu may pride yurself n being a lving persn, and thus regret nt living up t this image in the relatinship yu harmed. Mral regrets can als invlve just yurself. Maybe yu regret nt living up t yur prmise t yur health when yu ate a whle pizza r skipped the gym.
If nt analyzed(分析) and managed, any kind f regret can be harmful t yur well-being. Regret is linked t depressin and anxiety, and t much regret can negatively affect yur immune system. But regret desn’t have t be put aside and ignred.
9.What culd be cncluded frm Pink’s research?

    A.Types f regrets.B.Causes f regrets.

By far the mst cmmn difficulty in study is simple failure t get dwn t regular cncentrated wrk. This difficulty is much greater fr thse wh d nt wrk t a plan and have n regular rutine f study. Many students muddle alng, ding a bit f this subject r that, as the md takes them, r letting their set wrk pile up until the last pssible mment.
Few students wrk t a set timetable. They say that if they did cnstruct a timetable fr themselves they wuld nt keep t it, r wuld have t alter it cnstantly, since they can never predict frm ne day t the next what their activities will be.
N dubt sme temperaments(性格) take much mre kindly t a regular rutine than thers. There are many wh shy away frm the self-regimentatin (严格控制) f a weekly timetable, and dislike being tied dwn t a definite prgram me f wrk. Many able students claim that they wrk in cycles. When they becme interested in a tpic they wrk n it intensively fr three r fur days at a time. On ther days they avid wrk cmpletely. It has t be cnfessed that we d nt fully understand the cmplexities f the mtivatin t wrk. Mst peple ver 25 years f age have been used t a wrk rutine, and the majrity f really prductive wrkers set aside regular hurs fr the mre imprtant aspects f their wrk. The “tugh-minded” schl f wrkers is usually very cntemptuus(蔑视的)f the idea that gd wrk can nly be dne spntaneusly(自发地、本能地), under the influence f inspiratin.
Thse wh believe that they need nly wrk and study as the fit takes them have a mistaken belief either in their wn talent r in the value f “freedm”. Freedm frm discipline leads t unhappiness rather than t “self-expressin” r “persnality develpment”. Our sciety insists n regular habits, timekeeping and punctuality(准时), and whether we like it r nt, if we mean t make ur way in sciety we have t cmply(遵守) with its demands.
13.What is the mst widespread prblem in applying neself t study?
A.Applying neself t a subject nly when ne wants t.
    B.Failing t keep t a rutine f intensive wrk.
    C.willingness t fllw a systematic plan.
D.changing frm ne subject t anther.
14.What des the expressin “as the fit takes them” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A.when they are in the mdB.when they have the energy
C.when they feel fitD.when they find cnditins suitable
15.What might be the mst suitable title fr the passage?
    A.Attitudes t StudyB.Study and Self-discipline
    C.Study PlansD.The Difficulties in Study

由第三段中“Frm her end f the cnversatin, I culd tell right away her grandma was seriusly ill. When she hung up, she quickly crawled (爬) under her cvers, sbbing.(从她谈话的最后,我马上就能看出她奶奶病得很重。
根据第四段中“All f a sudden, a warm feeling f sympathy rse up in my heart. Slwly, I cllected the pencils, tk back the bks, made my bed, cleaned the scks and swept the flr, even n her side.(突然,一种温暖的同情之情在我心中升起。 故选A项。
通读全文,结合最后一段中“Kate and I stayed rmmates fr the rest f the year. We didn’t always agree, but we learned the key t living tgether: giving in, cleaning up and hlding n.(这一年剩下的时间里,Kate和我一直是室友。

But ging t the ther extreme may be even wrse.(让自己被遗憾淹没确实对你不好。 A. 故选A。
