My childhood promise

When I was thirteen years old, I lived with my mother. She didn’t have a husband or a family. She was poor but she always made amazing things for me. She said she didn’t like meat and gave all meat to me. But I knew why.

When I was sixteen years old, she found a good job and became busier. Soon, she was ill. But she wished to see me have a happy future. I promised her. For this wish, I worked hard till I became a pilot in 1938.When I was in war, I received mom’s letter from a friend of her from time to time.

When I became a general, I came back home with medals and glories on my uniform but no one greeted to me —— My mother died three years ago. Before she died, she wrote about two hundred and fifty letters and gave to her friend. So that, after she died, I could still fight until victory.
