      What did you do there?

 Step 4 Reading

Ask the Ss to read 3a quickly and answer the two questions.

Check answers.

.Explain:

How about …? 意思是“…怎么样? ”， 表示建议、征求意见，相当于 What about…?。

Come on! 同义短语：be quick, hurry up

拓展] 由come构成的短语还有：

come true 实现； 　      come up 上升，出现；

come up with 提出，想出； come out 出来，出版；

come in 进来；         come back 回来。

这是“do (does, did) + 动词原形”表示强调

suggest sth. 提议/建议某事。

suggest doing sth. “建议做某事”

suggest接that从句中的谓语多用should加动词原形构成, should可省略

On one’s way to …. 在某人去….的路上

by the way

in a way  在某种程度上；

in the way 挡道；妨碍

in this way  这样，通过这种方法

lose one’s way 迷路

Uncle Bob’s中’s属格后的名词省略掉了。’s属格后的名词如指商店、家宅等地点时，该名词常省略

get a table : 定餐桌；占位子

be busy doing sth/be busy with sth忙于做某事

I wonder where we should go next.

 宾语从句可以用：特殊疑问词+不定式代替

      I wonder where to go next

It seems that 可以转换成 “名词或代词＋

 seem ＋动词不定式”句型，其意不变。(学法)

Step 5 Rewrite

Underline the questions or statements in the conversation that ask for information. Rewrite them in a different way.

e.g. I wonder where we should go next.

Could you tell me where we could go next?

Check the answers with the whole class.
