From checking social media every minute to being lost in computer games, we tend to overuse technology. “For many people, a moment without your phone or laptop in sight can feel like a lifetime,” the Daily Mail commented. A team from the US-based company Toll Free Forwarding built a three-dimensional model to sniff out the negative effects technology can have on human bodies in less than 800 years. The computer model called Mindy may persuade many people to think twice.
“Spending hours looking down at your phone strains your neck and throws your spine (脊柱) off balance,” explained Caleb Backe, a health and wellness expert in the US. Then, the muscles in our neck need to spend extra effort to support the head, making our back hunched (驼背的) and neck wide.
“The way we hold our phones can cause strain in certain points of contact – causing text
claw (手机手),” Nikola Djordjevic, a physician in Serbia, told the team. It affects the elbows too, causing pain in the arm. Scientifically, it is called cubital tunnel syndrome (肘管综合征). That’s why Mindy has a 90-degree elbow, and her hands look like she’s always holding a mobile phone.
Some people also commented that human evolution may not work this way. They believe that only features with actual benefits would be kept throughout the years. For example, features that can increase the rate of survival, instead of the negative impact of technology.
However, current human lifestyles still raise concerns. A model called Emma was built by researchers in the UK in 2019 to show how the way people work at their desks could change them in 20 years. The research team built Emma based on the health issues mentioned by over 3,000 workers in France, Germany and the UK. Emma’s back stays bent, and her legs are swollen (肿胀的) due to the time people spend in front of computers. With little time spent outdoors and in the sun, her skin is pale, too.
    24. What do the underlined words “sniff out” mean in paragraph 2?
    A. Detect. B. Approach. C. Polish. D. Contradict.
    25. What can we learn from the two models of Mindy and Emma?
    A. They are built by the same US-based company.
    B. They both have bent backs and pale skin similarly.
    C. Everyone doesn’t approve human will evolve the way like Mindy.
    D. Emma’s strange elbow is due to holding up a phone for a long time.
    26. What is the author’s attitude towards this research ?
    A. Negative. B. Indifferent. C. Objective. D. Favorable.
    27. What is the purpose of the text?
    A. To compare two computer models Mindy and Emma.
    B. To illustrate the reasons for overusing phone technology.
    C. To address the effects caused by too much mobile phone use.
    D. To remind technological dependence may change our appearance.
    C
Plenty of days, temperatures in California’s Mojave Desert climb above 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 400 silvered glass panels, fixed into the western edge of that hot desert, are there to generate heat 15 times that amount. And, ideally, to help cool the planet too.
Made by the Pasadena-based company Heliogen, each 16-square-foot heliostat (定日镜) reflects a kilowatt of sunlight to the top of a five-story tower, where it’s absorbed by a receiver. As the little black heliostat burns white, it is over 1,800 degrees. That’s hot enough to begin manufacturing cement (水泥) and other industrial products—processes that typically rely on burning fossil fuels—and to potentially cut up to 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Heliogen CEO Bill Gross has dreamed of taking advantage of the sun since the 1973 energy crisis, when he sold DIY solar panels. Those sales helped put him through college. Last fall, the company fired up this first array (阵列). “It was a bit like watching a moon landing,” Gross says.
Similar arrays have been used to make electricity and tasty SunChips, and even drill for oil. But those peak around 1,000 degrees, because each heliostat has to be individually adjusted and
can fall out of rank over time. With Heliogen, cameras at the top of the tower scan the sky, and image analysis software figures out the best position for each mirror, which can circle in less than 1/160 of a degree. Gross says such efficiency can deliver heat 20 percent more cheaply than fossil fuels can.
As proof of concept, Heliogen has set up a kiln (炉) at the top of the tower to directly heat limestone, a key step in making cement. This year the company plans to link with commercial partners that have the large shadowless land required. Gross is also building a receiver that can handle temperatures above 2,700 degrees. That kind of strong fire can create synthetic hydrogen (合成氢), which could replace oil-based fuels. “Civilization depends on cement and steel—our roads, travel, everything,” Gross says. “We’ve found a way to clean it up.”
    28. What is the characterristic of Heliogen’s heliostat?
    A. It can work around the clock in hot desert.
    B. It consists of over 400 silvered glass panels.
    C. Its temperature can reach over 2,700 degrees.
    D. It relies on a receiver to make industrial products.
    29. How does Heliogen’s heliostat take effect?
    A. It always circles around the sun precisely.B. It reduces much greenhouse gas emissions.
    C. It replaces nuclear fuel in the industrial field.
    D. It burns itself to generate synthetic hydrogen.
    30. What can we learn from Heliogen CEO Bill Gross?
    A. He was excited about what his company has achieved.
    B. He made a breakthrough in manufacturing cement last fall.
    C. He had no related knowledge before the company establishment.
    D. He promoted the cooperation with other partners in solar energy.
    31. What does the last sentence “We’ve found a way to clean it up.” mean?
    A. The solar energy application to producing products is a promising reform.
    B. We should remove the traditional ways of manufacturing cement and steel.
    C. More cement and steel should be produced to create advanced civilization.
    D. People need to use oil-based fuels to make more civilization-related products.
    D
Adam Ryan, 31, has worked at Target in Christiansburg, Virginia, for three years. “I have to live with my family because I can’t afford rent on my own. I don’t have health insurance. Target has told me I don’t qualify for their benefits because I don’t get enough hours,” said Ryan, who is also an organizer with Target Workers Unite, an independent initiative of Target workers. He makes $13 an hour, the hourly minimum wage at Target since June 2022, which is scheduled to increase to $15 an hour by the end of 2023.
But Ryan and several other Target workers say Target is cutting their schedules and doubling their workload as it increases minimum wage under its ‘modernization plan’ to increase efficiency. They think that broader influences in the retail sector (零售业) are responsible for their difficulty – especially, the actions of their hard-charging rival Amazon.
“They’re responding to what Amazon is doing,” Ryan added. “They are trying to turn these stores into their own distribution centers, using brick-and-mortar stores (实体店). We have to be warehouse workers and customer service workers.”
Target Workers Unite recently released a survey of more than 500 Target workers around the US, representing 382 different stores in 44 states. Only 12.7% of the workers who responded said they could survive on the wages from Target alone, with 56% of workers citing they have ran out of food while employed at Target, and 12.8% of workers reported experiencing homelessness.
The survey also provides some insight into Target’s opposition to workers organizing. Many workers surveyed report they have been scolded by management for discussing workplace issues in the store or on social media.
As Target workers report struggling to make ends meet while experiencing cuts to their schedules, loss of benefits, and increased workloads, Target reported record share prices (股价) at the end of 2022, consistently beating predictions of sales and profits in 2022 and finding a balance between physical stores and digital commerce. The retail chain is ranked the eighth-largest retail corporation in the US based on sales. Target is preparing for the arguments against the workers’ survey’s finding and claims from workers over working conditions and schedule cuts.
    32. What can we know from the modernization plan of Target?
    A. It has not received widespread support from employees.
    B. It means less work hours which can benefit both parties.
    C. Only a few employees can be laid off when it is in effect.
    D. New employees suffer more for lack of much experience.
    33. What does the survey by Target Workers Unite indicate?
    A. Half workers could not find enough food to live on.
    B. Workers’ living conditions were actually not optimistic.
    C. Target workers began to realize that they had been cheated.
    D. It was inhuman to make some employees transfer their positions.
    34. What message does this passage convey to readers?
    A. Target tried to struggle for their workers’ benefits and welfare.
    B. Target conducted the modernization plan, but failed in the end.
    C. Target raised much money to cope with workers’ financial problems.
    D. Target raised wages, but with less working hours and more workload.
    35. What might the following paragraph talk about?
    A. Target drops the plan because of workers’ claims.
    B. Details of how Target defends itself are presented.
    C. The writer explains why Target achieved a success.
    D. Amazon encounters similar problems from workers.

How to Make Your Holiday Wonderful
Don’t want to spend a holiday alone feeling blue? 36
    1. Don’t Force Cheer
At family gatherings, when your relatives make some untruthful compliments (赞美), you will probably try to force a smile. 37 But a 2011 study by researchers at Michigan State University might make you think twice. They followed dozens of bus drivers for two weeks, looking to see when they force a happy face at their passengers. The results showed that on days when the drivers tried to pretend to have a good mood, their actual moods got worse.
    2. Don’t Suppress (压制) Sadness
The results of the bus-driver study can be explained by researchers from Stanford University, who found that negative feelings like sadness or anger only worsen when we try to suppress them. 38 Expressing our sadness can help us get comfort and compassion from those who care about us. By contrast, suppressing our emotions can actually harm our relationships.
    3. Respond Mindfully
39 When you respond mindfully to an emotional trigger (诱因), you pause rather than reacting. Instead of blaming yourself, you simply notice what you’re feeling without judging that response as right or wrong. Studies suggest that a mindful response to a negative event reduces the amount of negative emotions we experience. 40
Inevitably, the holidays will bring a mix of highs and lows. Perhaps the most important lesson to keep in mind is that this variety of emotions might be the best thing possible for your overall well-being.
    A. A smile might seem like the most mature response.
    B. And mindfulness is a skill you can develop over time.
    C. So trying to hide their feelings seems to lead to an opposite result.
    D. Psychological research suggests some effective ways to help beat the holiday blues.
    E. Instead, if properly understood, they can help contribute to a healthy and happy life.
    F. Recently, scientists have been paying special attention to the benefits of mindfulness.
    G. That’s because we feel worse when we try to control and hide our negative inner feelings.

    Thanksgiving for the Soul
Working as a primary teacher in Pompton Lakes Primary School, New Jersey, I particularly believed in cultivating love in children from an early age. I wanted children to experience that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. I wanted them to understand that love of society and love of life is not just lip service; that people somehow have to make it come alive. I hoped they could experience a sense of their own power to make a difference.
There was a rural area nearby where a lot of aged people lived in solitude (孤独). They either had no family or their children had left to work in big cities. Most of them lived on government aid to keep body and soul together. An agency, which was in charge of the elder people in this region, had once told me about a needy grandmother, Mrs. Wilson, who had lived alone for many years. I had always desired to do something for her. So I came up with the Thanksgiving plan.
In October, I told the eight-year-olds in my class about my plan. “I’d like all of you to do extra jobs around the house to earn some money,” I said. “Then we’ll buy food for a Thanksgiving dinner for a needy grandma who might not have a nice dinner otherwise.”
Early in Thanksgiving week, the boys and girls arrived in class clutching (紧握) their hard-earned money. They had cleared rubbish, set tables, washed dishes, helped with younger siblings. And now they couldn’t wait to go shopping.
I watched while they ran up and down the supermarket aisles (货架通道). At last we headed toward the checkout, pushing a cart filled with turkey and all the trimmings (配料). Then someone spotted a “necessity”—flowers, which caught their attention. All kids ran toward the holiday flowers, with one proposing, “Flowers! We can buy her a bunch of flowers!”
    注意:
    1. 续写词数应为150左右;

    高二英语读后续写阅卷
    第二节(满分25分)
    阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
    Thanksgiving for the Soul
Working as a primary teacher in Pompton Lakes Primary School, New Jersey, I particularly believed in cultivating love in children from an early age. I wanted children to experience that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. I wanted them to understand that love of society and
love of life is not just lip service; that people somehow have to make it come alive.
    注意:
    1. 续写词数应为150左右;
    2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
“Flowers may not be as practical as food.” I said. ___________________________________
    __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

With a food box and a bunch of flowers, we finally arrived at Mrs. Wilson’s home. ________

    __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    参考范文(Possible version):
“Flowers may not be as practical as food.” I said. “Food will feed her for the day, but flowers will delight her for days or longer.” one of them insisted. Looking at the bunches of blooming flowers neatly arranged there, sweet scent filling the air, I changed my mind. With my consent, the kids rushed forward, chose a bunch of beautiful purple flowers, and carefully placed it into the cart. Soon we jumped into the car and drove toward Mrs. Wilson’s home. The little ones talked and giggled on the way, unable to hold back their excitement.
With a food box and a bunch of flowers, we finally arrived at Mrs. Wilson’s home. Mrs. Wilson, a little woman with a weary face, came to the door to welcome us. With great hospitality, she led us into her house. Her mouth was widened with great joy as we carried the food box in. When one kid sent her the sweet flowers, she simply couldn’t conceal her excitement, tears glittering in her eyes. Holding the flowers to her nose, she seemed to regain her youth and vigor. At that moment, the kids had found the power they possessed to make another life better. Sometimes a bunch of flowers could nourish another soul on a dark November day.

Wilson。
第一段的首句“Flowers may not be as practical as food.” I said. 表明了作者对于买鲜花的态度,觉得鲜花没有食物实用。而第二段首句是With a food box and a bunch of flowers, we finally arrived at Mrs. Wilson’s home. 读者可以推测出孩子们一定是说服“我”买了一束鲜花送给Wilson奶奶,并开车前往她家。
    Paragraph 1 参考要点:
    ① 孩子们说服我购买鲜花送给奶奶;
    ② 选购鲜花;
    ③ 孩子们和我一起驾车开往Wilson奶奶家。(和下文的衔接)
    3. 第二段续写思路:
第二段的首句With a food box and a bunch of flowers, we finally arrived at Mrs. Wilson’s home. 提示读者续写到达Wilson奶奶家之后,我们给Mrs. Wilson送感恩节食材和鲜花的过程。
    Paragraph 2 参考要点:
    ① 对Mrs. Wilson奶奶状态或生活状况的描写;
    ② 我们将感恩节的食材拿进屋子后Mrs. Wilson的反应,尤其是看到鲜花时的反应;
    ③ 主题升华(升华到通过“助人”获得成长的快乐基本达到写作要求;若能升华到鲜花能给人带来精神上的滋养,则更完美)。
    4. 注意事项:
    读后续写具有开放性,只要学生的思路正确、符合逻辑、体现正能量即可!同时必须关注三个逻辑一致原则(续写部分与所给短文之间的逻辑;续写两段内容之间的逻辑;续写部分与所给开头语之间的逻辑),关注主题的突出,关注语言使用的正确性和合理性。

    【语篇导读】本文主要介绍了与艺术相关的博物馆或画廊工作室。
    21. D.【解析】细节理解题。A项中the scenic access表述有误,与原文behind-the-scenes access不吻合;B项中an art entrance examination表述有误,与原文an in-depth examination不吻合;C项中their observation ability表述有误,与原文develop theories based on their observations不吻合。根据文章第一个副标题对应的最后一段提及的Students will have the opportunity to create a work of art in the studio inspired by what they have seen in the galleries.可知:学生们有机会在工作室里创作一件艺术作品,灵感来自于他们在画廊里看到的东西。故选D项。
    22. B.【解析】细节理解题。文章三部分内容提及参观者的年龄要求分别是:Grades 9–12、Grades 11–12、Grades 7–12,他们的共同点在于12年级的学生都可以参加。B项中a 12th grader的意思是“一个十二年级的学生”,不能理解为“一个十二岁的学生”,故选B项。D项与Museum Makers: Exploring Art and Museums中提及的from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm不吻合。
    23. C.【解析】主旨大意题。纵观全篇,第一和第三部分讲述的是与gallery相关的内容,第二部分讲述的是与museum相关的内容,全文的中心集中在“art”这个词上。故选C项。D项的意思为“教学设计”,其内容应该与“如何开展教学的步骤”相关,与原文内容不吻合。
    B
    【语篇导读】本文主要讲述了未来人类进化或受电子设备的影响。
    24. A.【解析】词义猜测题。第一段的最后一句话The computer model called Mindy may persuade many people to think twice.的意思是:这个叫做Mindy的电脑模型可能会说服很多人三思而后行。由此可以推论Mindy这一模型发现了技术对人体的负面影响,故选A项。A项“发现”;B项“处理”;C项“擦亮、提升”;D项“反驳”。
    25. C.【解析】细节推断题。第四段提及Some people also commented that human evolution may not work this way.,由此可知:一些人认为人类的进化不会像模型Mindy提到的那样,他们认为人类会将有益的特征保留,而不是保留技术的负面影响,即并不是所有的人都认为技术会影响人类进化,故选C项。根据第五段的Emma was built by researchers in the UK可知,Emma不是在美国建立的,所以A项错误;第二段对Mindy的描述没有涉及模型Mindy的肤色,所以B项错误;第三段的That’s why Mindy has a 90-degree elbow
    表明有strange elbow的是Mindy,而不是Emma,D项偷换主语概念。
    26. C.【解析】作者态度题。本文作者主要是客观地阐述了一些研究者、媒体和大众的观点和评论。 “the Daily Mail commented.” “...explained Caleb Backe”, “Nikola Djordjevic,...told the team”, “Some people also commented that...” 等表达方式充分证明了作者对此事的客观态度,故选C项。
    27. D.【解析】主旨大意题。文章通过介绍两个模型揭示了过度使用先进技术会影响人类的外貌和体型这一现象,阐述了未来人类进化或受电子设备的影响,故选D项。文章并没有比较Mindy和Emma这两个模型,所以A项错误;文章并没有重点阐述过度使用手机的原因,所以B项错误;文章没有提出消除影响的方法,address the effects表述有误,所以C项错误。

    【语篇导读】原文选自2020年2月的外刊Wired。主要介绍了Heliogen公司在加利福尼亚的莫哈韦沙漠建立的太阳能列阵以及利用其产生的能源制造产品的生产方式。题目的设置侧重于考察学生对文章的细节把握和一定的推理能力。
    28. D.【解析】细节理解题。根据第二段---where it’s absorbed by a receiver. As the little black heliostat burns white, it exceeds 1,800 degrees可知,定日镜需要借助于一个接收器来收集能量,从而制造产品,故选D项。B项混淆了单块的定日镜和有400块硅质玻璃板构成的array(阵列),同时over 400表述与原文不吻合。
    29. B.【解析】细节理解题。根据第二段的最后一句话可知,Heliogen的定日镜能够产生制造一些工业品的能量,从而避免使用石化燃料,这也就相当于减少了温室气体的排放,故选B项。A项中的circle around表述有误;D项的表述nuclear fuel表述有误。
    30. A.【解析】推理判断题。根据第三段的最后一句话可知,Gross对公司取得的成绩感到兴奋,故选A项。D项中提及的与其他公司合作仅仅是公司未来的计划。
    31. A.【解析】推理判断题。在最后一段中,Gross提出:文明依赖于水泥和钢铁。而这些产品必须依靠石化燃料来生产。但是我们已经找到了一种去除它的方法,即用太阳能来取代石化燃料,由此可见其是有前景的,故选A项。
    D
    【语篇导读】原文取材于2022年2月27日的英国卫报经济板块。揭露了美国八大零售商之一的Target劳资矛盾的问题。原文约1000字,主要删除了一些采访者的话,只保留了一些具有代表性的谈话。考虑文章总体不难,题目设置时对原文材料有一定深度的挖掘,有的选项有一定的干扰性,要求考生结合题干逐个比对四个选项才能得到正确答案。
    32. A.【解析】推理判断题。根据第一段可知,Ryan是工会的组织者和独立倡议人。从他在第一段的言论和下文的调查结论中可知,Target公司正在削减员工的工作,并将工作量增加一倍的the modernization plan并不深得人心,故选A项。D项与第一段中的Target has told me I don’t qualify for their benefits because I don’t get enough hours意思不吻合。
    33. B.【解析】推理判断题。根据第四段中提及的数据显示,只有12.7%的工人表示他们可以靠Target公司的工资生存,56%的工人称他们在Target公司工作期间没有食物,12.8%的工人报告无家可归。由此可知,被调查者的生存状况不容乐观,故选B项。A项
    中混淆了workers和interviewees的概念。
    34. D.【解析】主旨大意题。本文主要讲述了Target公司推行的modernization plan以及员工相对应的反应。在这个计划的执行过程中,劳资双方的矛盾在于工资、劳动时间和工作量三个方面,故选D项。A项中welfare在原文中没有体现,另外Target并没有去为员工谋福利。
    35. B.【解析】推理判断题。根据文章的最后一句话可知:Target公司反对员工组织的调查结果和工人对工作条件和时间表削减的诉求。再结合最后一段提及的Target公司现在的股价和在美国的市场地位可以推论,Target公司会提出更多反驳的理由,故选B项。C项与最后一段最后一句话中的is preparing for不衔接。

    【语篇导读】本文主要介绍了如何让假期过得更美好的一些建议。
    36. D. 整个文章是总分总结构。第一小节第一句是疑问句,向读者发问:不想一个人忧郁地度过假期,是吗?所以心理学研究提供了一些有效的方法来战胜假日忧郁。根据下面几个副标题,故选D项。
    37. A. 第二小节的副标题是Don’t Force Cheer。这一小节第一句:在家庭聚会上,当你的亲戚做出一些不真实的赞美时,你可能会忍不住装出一副高兴的样子,故选A项。A smile might seem like the most mature response.“微笑似乎是最成熟的回应”,跟前句之间是顺承关系。
    38. G. 这一小节讲了当我们试图抑制悲伤或愤怒等负面情绪时,它们只会变得更糟。这是因为当我们努力控制或隐藏负面的内在情绪时,我们感受更糟。前后句子之间属于因果关系,故选G项。干扰项C,前后句之间人称是矛盾的。
    39. F. 这一空位于这一小节段首,是统领这一小节的主题句。副标题Respond Mindfully与F项中的the benefits of mindfulness对应,故选F项。
    40. B. 该空格位于第四小节段末。这一小节讲了正念的好处以及正念是一种可以慢慢培养的技能,前后属于并列关系,故选B项。

    第三部分 第一节 完形填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)

    【语篇导读】本文主要讲述了两个小孩为了看清结冰的池塘面上是一只鸭还是一只鹅,决定冒险走上去一探究竟。然而由于高估了冰的承受力,他们先后遇险,命悬一线。幸运的是,勇敢的邻居听到了姐姐的呼喊,成功地救下了两个孩子并及时送往医院救治。
    41. B. 从下文threw a rock onto the ice可知,这个池塘是结冰的。故选frozen。
    42. B. 两个小孩决定冒险之前也做了一些准备工作,首先扔一块石头到池塘上是为了测试冰的结实度。故选test 。
    43. C. 在确定冰可以承受他们的重量时,其中一个小男孩Anthony走了几步。故选convinced。
    44. A. 从下文I just fell through instantly可知,冰面并不结实,池塘只是看起来是冻结实的。故选seemingly。
    45. C. Cruz立刻冲过去救他的朋友,而面对这一突发事件,Anthony
    当时一定非常惊恐。故选panicked。
    46. B. 根据However可知,他并没有救成功,反而池塘也吞噬了他。故选swallowed。
    47. D. Cruz并没有放弃,成功地从水里出来并把自己移到了一块相对稳固的地方。故选solid。
    48. A. Cruz接下来继续朝着他好朋友的方向移动,但这一次他非常小心谨慎。故选cautiously。
    49. B. 从上文But the ice didn’t hold, and he fell in again. This time, he couldn’t get out.可知,他们生存的机会已经悄悄溜走了,也就是机会很小。故选slipping away。
    50. C. 从下文John Lavin, a neighbor driving nearby on his way to the grocery store, heard her. 可知,当Anthony’s older sister 看到弟弟掉进池塘里,她就拼命喊叫求救,最终被邻居听到了。故选screaming。
    51. A. John Lavin当时正在路上开车,听到救命声,立刻把车靠边停下。故选pulled over。52. B. 看到这两个落水的小男孩,他立刻抓起了附近的救生圈,踢掉了脚上的鞋,跳进了水里。故选grabbed。
    53. A. 小男孩们被送往医院后,医生发现在水里待了五分钟让他们的体温下降了10度。故选lowered。
    54. D. 幸运的是,两个小孩最终完全康复了。故选recovered。
    55. D. 他们说要是没有这个无畏的邻居,他们早已经死了。故选fearless。

    第二节短文填空(共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分)
    【语篇导读】本文是新闻报道,主要讲述了神舟十四号载人飞行任务取得圆满成功。
    56. recognition 【解析】考查词性转变。 in recognition of是“承认;为......酬谢”之意。
    57. to have accomplished 【解析】考查非谓语动词。 sb. be reported to have done sth.意为“据 报道某人已经做了某事”,等同于It was reported that they had accomplished many “firsts”.本题易错点在于学生能够考虑到to do sth., 而忽略to have done的时态概念。
    58. a 【解析】考查冠词。句意为:神州十四号载人飞行任务圆满成功了。a success属于抽象名词具体化,表示“一件成功的事或一个成功的人”。
    59.when 【解析】考查定语从句。since when表示“从……时候起”,与从句中的现在完成时have stayed对应。
    60. Having orbited 【解析】考查非谓语动词。现在分词完成式作状语。逻辑主语和主句主语一致,是they,即指the crew,他们和orbit之间为主动关系,又因为时间for several months, 持续了几个月的时间,是发生在主句动词complete之前的动作,故用having orbited。
    61.to enter 【解析】考查非谓语动词。crew有序数词the first修饰,所以后面用不定式作定语。
    62. on 【解析】考查介词。walk on air是一个固定搭配,意思为“
    非常开心的,欣喜若狂的,洋洋得意的”。
    63.excitedly 【解析】考查词性转变。这里需要副词来修饰动词said,表示刘洋兴奋地说。
    64. historic 【解析】考查词性转变。这里需要形容词来修饰名词gathering,但本题的易错点在于:history的形容词形式有historic和historical两种,所以要进一步比对historic表示“有重大历史意义的”,而historical则侧重表示“与历史事实相关的”。
    65. had been 【解析】考查时态语态。本句中的previously,表明相对于前一句的conducted以及added,此处应该是过去的过去,因此用过去完成时。

    Dear fellow students,
Faced with heavy academic arrangements, we have to bury ourselves in study for a long time, which makes our vision gradually decline. Considering its seriousness, I put forward the following initiatives on behalf of the Students’ Union.
In the first place, take advantage of the reasonable schedule that can reduce excessive use of eyes. If so, our eyes won’t be in a fatigue condition. In addition, put regular eye exercises into a good habit. They can relax our eyes, thus reducing the chance of myopia. Above all, stay away from the Internet or mobile phones as far as possible. Otherwise, it will cause shortsightedness easily.
Eyes are the windows of our mind. With them, our life becomes colorful. Please take action immediately to cherish, love, and protect our eyes.

    Text 1
M: I heard that you went to the movie with Johnson last night. Was the movie as good as you expected?
W: I’d rather I had done my housework at home.
    Text 2
W: What type of exercising are you interested in?
M: I like snowkiting very much.
    W: Really? What’s that?
M: It’s like snowboarding, you know, going down a mountain on a board, but you have a kite attached to, so you go even faster.
    Text 3
W: Nicholas, I finally got my driver’s license. I can’t wait to buy my own car.
M: Wow! Congratulations! I’m a little worried that I will fail my driving test next month.
W: Take it easy! I believe you can do it well.
    Text 4
W: Do you like eating carrots?
M: Yes! They’re one of my favorite vegetables. I love eating them raw, and I often make carrot juice in the morning. What about you?
W: I enjoy eating carrots too. But I normally cook them.
    Text 5
M: Hi, Kendra. I’m Tony, Student President of Class 4. Mr. Jones told me to help you on your first day here. Ready for science class?
W: Yeah. It’s nice of you to help me. I’m a little lost. Who’s our teacher?
M: It’s Ms. Green. And our class is right here.
    Text 6
W: Work? In the future? Well, I think as companies get more computerized, they’re finding ways of using fewer workers.
M: Yeah. And more and more people will be working at home because of computers.
W: Wow, I’d really love that. Can you imagine spending most of your work week in the comfort of your own home?
M: Personally, I would have freer timetable and get much more done. And with emails and phone calls you can still keep in touch with everyone you need to.
W: Well, I’m afraid I might just sit back and turn on the TV!
    Text 7
    W: You’re hungry, aren’t you?
    M: How could you tell?
W: You have that look on your face like you’re about to get mad for no reason.
M: Yeah, it’s easy to lose your temper when you’re tired or hungry.
W: What happened to your sandwich?
M: It’s still in the refrigerator at school. I never got to eat it.
    W: What happened?
M: The fire alarm went off. We all had to go out of the building and wait for an hour. We didn’t miss any classes because it was at noon, but we missed all of lunch.
W: Oh, no. Well, I made some cookies. Want one?
    M: Of course.
    Text 8
W: Hello, Mr. Thompson. Miss Lennon said you wanted to speak to me.
M: Yes, Sarah. And your work is suffering. Is something on your mind?
W: Yes, I do feel a little bit sad.
M: Why is that? Is the schoolwork too hard for you or is there a problem at home?
W: No, no… it’s Tony. Tony was my cat. He was lost last week. He was my best friend.
M: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I know how that feels — and getting a new cat doesn’t always help.
    W: I couldn’t do that.
M: Sarah, I’m going to give you a little book to read. It’s called Coping with Loss, and it might help you deal with your feelings.
W: OK, and I will try to focus on my lessons.
    Text 9
W: Thanks for driving me around.
M: Don’t mention it. I have time today, and I think it’s important that you find a good place.
W: It would be not easy for me to do it. I am not familiar with the city.
M: So what do you see in there?
W: A flat with a view of the lake, next to a big supermarket, including electrical equipment and parking. A modern furnished kitchen, $470.
    M: Can you afford that?
W: No, I guess not. But that’s what I want.
M: Yes, a flat usually has one large room, a small bathroom and a small kitchen. So it’s good for one person.
W: This one. Two girls are seeking a roommate. Comfortable downtown apartment. Does this mean I have to share a room with them?
M: No. It probably means they have a large apartment. Probably a living room, kitchen and three bedrooms. They need someone for the empty bedroom.
W: Sounds good to me. I really appreciate your help on this.
M: My pleasure. What are friends for anyway?
    Text 10
Good evening, everyone. If this is the first time for you to come to our library as a new student, let me tell you a bit about the services we offer here. The library has four reading rooms. On the first floor is the No. 1 Reading Room, which is for newspapers and magazines. On the second floor, on the left as you go up the stairs, is the No. 2 Reading Room, which has books written in foreign languages.
Immediately above it on the third floor is the No. 4 Reading Room, for works in Chinese. The No. 3 Reading Room on the second floor is for the use of teachers and graduate students. There is also a Reference Materials Center on the third floor which is for teachers only. Each student is given five library cards for borrowing books and one for magazines. Of the five cards for books, only one can be used to borrow works of history. Books can be kept for up to a month and magazines for two weeks.
