If you have a question, you may want to get a quick answer online. Some technology companies are working to make this come true by developing chatbots. They are computer programmes that can communicate with people by phone, on messaging apps or websites.

Chatbots can look up information, answer frequently (经常地) asked questions and collect information from users. They can also be used for online shopping to help people decide what to buy.

There are two kinds of chatbots: open and closed. A closed chatbot may or may not use AI to understand messages from users. An open chatbot uses AI both to know what people want and to create a reply. Open chatbots are able to learn from their conversations and then improve their ability to communicate over time. This means that open chatbots can answer a wider range (范围) of questions, compared with closed chatbots.

One important advantage of chatbots is that they are available all the time, even at midnight. What’s more, one chatbot can serve many users at once. This means that people can get answers quickly instead of waiting for the reply of a human agent.

______ Someone has to programme the chatbots at the beginning and train them. Sometimes, open chatbots can’t give answers to certain questions. Besides, many people prefer speaking to a human rather than a chatbot.

     D. Open chatbots don’t use AI to understand questions.

(     )14. Which of the following can be put into ______?

① Teenagers often have difficulty achieving a balance between schoolwork and life. They spend a lot of time on screens and don’t have enough time for sleep. No wonder many teenagers are experiencing disorganization (杂乱无章). How can they solve the problem? Your Teen, a magazine for parents, contacted Laurie Martin, owner of Simplicity Organizers, to find out where to start. Here are her suggestions.

② Teenagers need to learn to create suitable systems for organizing their things, space, and time. First, they must realize and try to avoid time wasters (浪费时间的东西) such as emails and text messages. To manage time better, teenagers should use a notebook to record everything, including exams, school activities, birthdays and family trips.

③ They should also hang a large calendar at the “command centre”. What is a “command centre”? It’s a place where teenagers can do their homework. It should include a desk, a lamp, a comfortable chair, and some boxes to put paper and books. Remember to clean and organize the centre often.

④ What’s more, it is necessary for teenagers to make a plan. Every Sunday evening, they should have a look at their notebooks and get to know what they should do in the coming week. Then make a detailed plan. If everything goes according to plan, they will get more organized.

⑤ Organization is of great help to teenagers as it has something to do with balance and self-improvement. Organization is a life skill that people can learn at any age. Some training will help teenagers develop organizational skills that schools hardly mention. The earlier teenagers get the training, the quicker they will develop important skills.

(     )16. Which suggestion is NOT mentioned by Laurie Martin?

     A. Make a detailed plan.

     B. Hang a large calendar.

     C. Clean and organize the centre often.

     C. ① ② ④ ⑤ ⑥ D. ② ③ ④ ⑤ ⑥

About 100 metres from the coast of Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, eight sculptures (雕塑) rise from the ocean floor, five metres below. The pieces of art are part of Oceanium, an ocean diving centre and environmental organization in Dakar. The purpose is to draw attention to the importance of protecting sea environments.

Artists Mischa Sanders and Philipp Putzer created the sculptures. The works were first shown at Dakar’s art event.

Charlotte Thomas, Oceanium’s head of communications, said, “You see, here in Senegal, the pollution is everywhere. You go to Dakar and you see rubbish all around you. And with the rainy season coming, it goes into the sea. So, if we do not protect our land, we cannot protect our sea.”

Besides Senegal’s plastic pollution, an increase in development projects over the past ten years has greatly changed the coastline and hurt the environment. The number of fish species has greatly dropped because of overfishing.

Rodwan El Ali, the diving director of Oceanium, said, “I live underwater. The areas were so beautiful when I was young. Today there are not only no fish left, but they’ve been replaced by plastic bottles, cans and all kinds of things. It hurts me.” El Ali said he used to see large ocean animals like dolphins, whales and sharks, and catch fish that were his size but now there is hardly anything left. “We are in a country where the environment is not important,” he added. “You can go out to sea and do whatever you want and no one will stop you.”

Organizers of the project said they planned to take on local artists to create new sculptures that would be added to the pieces over time.

     D. development projects are helpful in protecting the environment

(     )23. The fourth paragraph mainly talks about __________.

     A. the environmental problems in Senegal

     B. the large drop in the number of fish species

     C. the seriousness of Senegal’s plastic pollution

     D. the reason why the coastline of Dakar changes

     C. The organizers will invite famous artists to research the sculptures.

     D. The locals haven’t realized the importance of environmental protection.

(     )25. What’s the best title for the passage?

     C. Underwater art projects encourage artists to create sculptures
