 一般过去时

 1.含义：一般过去时指，当动作是在过去发生的，这时谓语动词要用动词过去式。

英国人为什么喜欢谈论天气

喜欢谈“天”的英国人：英国人内向而含蓄,和一个英国人刚刚结识便天南海北的高谈阔论会被认为是失态。英国人见面时最普遍的话题莫过于谈论天气,对天气的简短评论,成了熟人间互相致意的客套。

如果在社交场合,天气就更是谈论的话题。所以有人说,谈论天气是英国民族的主要消遣方式，不可侵犯的个人城堡:英国人特别讲究尊重每个人的自己的“个人天地”(英国人称之为“Privacy”)。这是一个由长期民族习惯形成,含义十分丰富的词,英国人常常将它挂在嘴边。举例言之,居住的房屋最好是独立,远离闹市。若有邻居,也要篱笆相隔,绿树荫窗,使房内人的起居生活、社交来往不为外人所知。邻居之间推门直入,相识之人未经约定便来拜访,都是对别人生活的干扰,是十分失礼的举动。甚至没有什么正当原因或不在适当的时间给人家打电话,也都是干扰了别人的“个人天地”。
