过去进行时一、定义： 过去进行时常表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作或状态。

二、过去进行时 的构成：
主语 + was/were＋动词现在分词 +…
否定句： 主语 + was/were+ nt + 动词-ing +…　　 Jack was nt watching TV at this time yesterday . He was cleaning his car. 　　 一般疑问式：Was/Were + 主语+ 动词-ing +…? 　　 Were yu playing basketball at fur yesterday afternn? 昨天下午四点你们在打篮球吗?

V-ing 变化规则： 1）一般加 ing . 如: play----playing watch----watching 2）以不发音的e 结尾,去e 加ing. 如: take----taking make----making cme---cming live----living 3）以重读闭音节结尾，末尾只有一个元音字母+一个辅音字母结尾的，要双写最后的一个辅音字母再加-ing. 如： run----running 跑 cut----cutting 切 swim----swimming 游泳　sit----sitting 坐 get----getting 获得 shp----shpping 购物 stp-----stpping 停止 win----winning 赢 put----putting 放 frget----frgetting 忘记 begin----beginning 开始

1.过去进行时常表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作。
三、过去进行时的用法：
I was watching TV last night.
2.过去进行时可表示当一个动作发生时（When )，另一个动作正在进行。
当我到家时，她正在做饭。
When (当 时侯) I came hme, she was cking dinner.
While (When) we were talking in the classrm, the teacher came in.
1. 当我们正在谈话时，老师进来了。
3.过去进行时可表示当一个动作正在进行时(When/while)，另一个动作突然发生。
while“当 时侯”和进行时连用并且连用 的动词要用延续性动词)
4.过去进行时可表示两个动作同时正在进行.用(While)
While I was watching TV, my mther was cking.

我正在做饭, 就在那时她敲门了。

when 和while的用法区别
1.when 既指时间点，也可指一段时间; while只指一段时间. 2.when 引导的从句的动作可以是可延续性动词，也可以是非延续性动词； while引导的从句的动作必须是可延续性动词

(1) “当…的时候”,如后面连接的动词为进行时态,则用while多于用when。而when通常与瞬间性动词或延续性不强的动词连用。(2) 如果while前后的动词都是进行时态, 用while，可译为“与此同时” I was reading while my brther was drawing.
四、与过去进行时连用的时间状语有:

一般过去时与过去进行时的区别
1、一般过时往往表示某一动作已经完成，而过去进行时却表示动作在持续或未完成。 　比较： She wrte a letter t her friend last night. 她昨晚给朋友写了封信。 (信写完了) She was writing a letter t her friend last night. 她昨晚一直在给朋友写信。 (信不一定写完)
2、一般过去时表示只做一次动作，而过去进行时却表示动作反复地进行。 如： She waved t me. 她朝我挥了挥手。 She was waving t me. 她一直朝我挥手。
3、句中有a mment ag之类的短语一般用一般过去时。 4、句中有at this time last Sunday, frm 8:00 t 9:00 yesterday 之类的状语一般用过去进行时。 过去进行时可以用来代替一般过去时，表示更为偶然而非预定的动作： I was talking t Tm that day． 那天我跟汤姆聊天来着。
