A.How did the judge solve the student’s problem?
B.(The judge solved the problem) By making the restaurant owner hear the sound of the falling coins.

    2. 用where/when提问,要以介词in/ on/ at等开头。
    A.Where did the student live?
    B.In a small room near a restaurant.

A.When did Eppie Lederer begin to write an advice column for the Chicago Sun Times?
B.In 1955. (or: After she won a contest.)

When did you come to Shanghai?
    ①在2012年→In 2012.
Two years ago.
When I was a boy.

    3. 用how many提问,要注意数字前是否有限定词more than/ at least/about等。
A.How many readers do the two columns have?
B.Nearly 200 million readers (around the world).

    4. 用why提问,要以because(of) 开头回答, 或者以To do开头回答。
A.Why did the student feel afraid?
B.Because the judge said he was wrong / he had only a few coins/ he had no money.

A.Why did Lederer ask her readers to write letters to The U.S. Congress?
B.To make them pass the law.

A.Whom did Sam live with in the Wild Catskill Mountains?
    B.He lived with himself.
A.How long have you stayed in Shanghai? B. For 3 years.
    B. How long did it take you to go to school by bus? B. 3 hours.

A.How was the food in the restaurant?
    B.The food was delicious/good.

Example 1. Both Eppie Lederer and Pauline Phillip love their jobs, don’t they?
Example 2. Both Eppie Lederer and Pauline Phillip don’t love their jobs, do they?

Based on her speaking, how do we stay young, to laugh or to cry?
We stay young to laugh.

A.As a teenager, will you run away from home? Why?
B.Because this was just the kind of forest he always dreamed about.

    D. Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题): ( 12分)
When Jan and Brian Dutcher moved to San Diego for Brian’s new job at San Diego State University, the neighbors smiled and introduced themselves. But there were no “bring a plate” invitations, no car pooling for her daughters Liza, 12 and Erin, 15.
“The families really didn’t know each other, and we missed that,” says Jan. “We are far from relatives. Neighbors are our family.”
So Jan, an artist, decided to repeat a project she had done for Liza’s fifth-grade class: ask each person to paint his or her face on a big canvas (帆布). The finished piece would become the new family photo.
First, Jan painted a grid (网格) on the canvas and put it up in the garage with a table of paints nearby. Then whenever she was home, the “art room” door was up, with an open invitation for neighbors to paint. The first to stop in were kids riding by. “They thought it was cool,” says Jan, but the adults weren’t so keen. “Most said they hadn’t picked up a paint brush since kindergarten,” she says. “They were afraid they’d mess it up.” But as word slowly spread, they came, some using their driver’s license photos as models.
Then something started to happen. They returned—to see who had painted, or if they could recognize who was who. In Jan’s garage, they began to chat about schools, jobs and families. Almost daily. Wendy, who lived across the street and was seriously ill, came in her wheelchair to watch the fun. Neighbors began to offer their support.
When the worst thing happened and Wendy died, they stood by her husband, Bill and invited him over for dinners.
This year has been different in the neighborhood. Families take turns hosting happy hours. “We’re watching over each other now just like in the painting” says Jan.

    88. Why did the Dutchers move to San Diego?
    ______________________________________________________________________.
    89. Where did people paint, on a wall, a car or a canvas?
    ______________________________________________________________________.
    90. Who joined in the project first after a grid was done?
    ______________________________________________________________________.
    91. What did the adults in the neighborhood think of the project at first?
    ______________________________________________________________________.
    92. With the project on and on, what happened in and out of the garage?
    ______________________________________________________________________.
    93. How do you understand the underlined sentence “We’re watching over each other now just like in the painting”?

My daughter, Tina, began to look for a job several months before she graduated from university. “Because of the financial crisis(金融危机), it is more difficult to get into a company than to take the college entrance exam.” I told her, “You shouldn’t have too much hope or you would feel really disappointed.” Tina applied for a position in a company in the city center. The competition was fierce. The company was to employ only one among the twenty people. Tina said to me, “I am not afraid of disappointment. As long a s I try, there will always be hope! ”
Everything seemed to go quite well and Tina passed the first round and entered the final in a week’s time.
On the day of the final interview, Tina and two other candidates (候选人)arrived on time, waiting for the test. To their great surprise, the interview was quite simple, and the interviewer only chatted with them for a moment. The interviewer said to them, “All of you are super. Please go home and wait for our answer. We will tell you the result in three days. Good luck to all of you!” On the third day, Tina received the message from the company telling her that she was not employed. She felt upset. In order to comfort her, I pretended to be relaxed and said, “It does not matter! I believe you will have more opportunities in the future!”
Late in the afternoon, Tina suddenly told me excitedly on the phone, “Dad, good news. I’ve made it! ” I could not wait to ask her, “What’s the whole matter?” Tina told me that she received a second message saying that she was employed. She was so confused that she made a call to the company. In fact, the message Tina got in the morning was also part of the test of the interview. The three candidates received the same message this morning and only Tina’s replay was satisfying to the company. “How did all of you reply?” I asked. “One did not reply. The other said ‘Goodbye’ and I said ‘Thank you’ .”

93.What can we learn from Tina? (Give at least two points.)

The Green Belt Movement is a community-based group in Kenya. It aims to help protect the environment, mainly through planting trees.
The Green Belt Movement was started in 1977 by Wangari Maathai. When Wangari started the Green Belt Movement, she thought much about both people and the environment. She thought that if people grew the trees themselves, it would help them to understand environment and develop their local cultures.
Today, the Green Belt Movement works like this. Members from the Movement go to communication to talk about tree planting and starting nurseries (苗圃). If the local people are interested, they can join the Movement as a group. When they join, they receive a lot of information about how to prepare the soil (土壤), and collect and grow seeds. When the people know what to do, they can collect seeds, plant them into seedlings (幼苗). When the seedlings are big enough, they will be planted on farms. The Green Belt Movement pays the nursery for each seedling that is still alive after three months.
The Green Belt Movement now has over 6000 community nurseries in Kenya, and many more in other African countries. Over the last 30 years, it has planted more than 30 million trees in parks and on farms.
The Green Belt Movement also runs programs to help people start gardens and grow plants that are local to their area. This means that many communities can now take care of almost their own food needs, and they can often make extra income as well.
In 2004, Wangari Maathai won the Nobel Peace Prize. Giving the prize to Wangari showed that peace doesn’t just mean stopping wars. It can also mean making the world a better place to live in.

    93. Why was Wangari given the Nobel Peace Prize for starting the Green Belt Movement?

    D)Answer the questions
Imagine the situation. You are driving along a desert or on a mountain. You have no idea where you are. You passed the last house two hours ago. Then your car breaks down. It is night and it is cold. You have no mobile phone. What do you do? Well, next time take a GPS with you. This invention may be able to help you. It is a device(装置)which uses satellites (卫星) to find the user's position(位置). It can find your position to within 20 metres. A GPS cannot start your car, but at least you will know where you are.
GPS, which means Global Positioning System, is a small radio receiver; It looks like a mobile phone. It is sometimes put into a watch or a telephone. We also find GPS devices in cars, planes, or boats. Some of these devices have electronic maps, so you know where you are. For example, in a city they can tell you the name of the street.
There are three parts to the Global Positioning System. The first part is the receiver. You can hold it in your'hand/6r have it fixed into your car, plane, etc. The second part is a group of satellites orbiting(环绕。。。运行)the Earth. The receiver contacts at least four of the satellites and calculates its position. The third part of the system is a network of ground stations. They are all over the world. They control the satellites and make sure they are working well!
Some people think that in the future the GPS will be as common as the mobile. They are becoming cheaper and more and more accurate. Also there will be new uses for the GPS. Perhaps they will become like watches. Everyone will have one and you will never be lost anywhere.

    93. What is the author's purpose of writing this passage?

As it’s coming to the end of the year, Feng Qianhui, 16, from the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, is quite busy. She is thinking about getting more students to her club – the Daylight Short Film Club.
Feng actually needn’t worry too much. When she started the club in the June, it immediately got 60 junior and senior high school students.
They spent the summer vocation making a 12-minute short film, Jealousy(《嫉妒》).The film is about a friendship between two girls which was affected by jealousy. When it was put online, the film got more than 10,000 hits within a month.
Though we are students, we can make good films,” Feng said. “ our films show students’ points of views which may resonate(产生共鸣) with viewers.”
Many schools in Beijing have created “fashionable” clubs like this one. There are rock music clubs , medical herb(药草)clubs and a club for the traditional costume of the Han ethic group(汉服) and so on. Compared to the traditional clubs, these new ones are more fun and get their members active.
Qi Yiyang,15,is a member of the co splay (角色扮演) club at Beijing No.3 Middle School. The club was set up last year. She says she is so glad that she finally has a place to develop her interest and relax.
When taking part in a co splay activity, Li sometimes spends hours doing her make-up(化妆) and usually stands for nearly the whole day with a heavy costume on.
“ But it’s exciting to dress exactly like my favorite cartoon characters,” Li said, “It makes me forget all my troubles.”
    93. Do you think it’s good for students to take part in school clubs? Why or why not?

Answer the questions (根据以下内容回答问题)(12分)
Many of the world’s successful people were once failures. Here are the stories of a few of them.
Michael Jordan (born 1963) is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. However, he himself admits that it hasn’t been easy. In a famous advertisement for Nike, he says, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted(委托)to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Albert Einstein (1879-1955) won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1921. However, he wasn’t always considered a “genius”. He didn’t speak until he was four, and couldn’t read until he was seven. His teachers and parents thought he was slow, and he was expelled (开除)from school. He later famously said, “Success is failure in progress”
Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was one of America’s greatest leaders, taking the country through the Civil War However, his life was never easy. He started numerous business that failed, he went bankrupt(破产)twice and was defeated in 26 campaigns(竞选)for public office. He later said, “My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.”
J.K. Rowling (born 1965) is the author of the hugely successful Harry Potter books, and one of the richest women in the world. But before publishing the books, she was penniless, depressed and trying to raise a child on her own. In a speech at Harvard in 2008, she said, “I had failed so greatly. After a short-lived marriage, I was jobless, a lone parent, and as poor as it is possible to be in modern Britain, without being homeless. The fears that my parents had had for me, and that I had had for myself, had both come to pass, and by every usual standard, I was the biggest failure I knew.”
So you see, just keep going!
    88. How many times has Michael Jordan missed the game winning shot?

    89. What happened to Albert Einstein in 1921?

    90. Which did Abraham Lincoln care more about, whether he failed or how faced with his failure?

    91. J.K. Rowling is one of the richest women in Britain, isn’t she?

    92. What was J.K. Rowling’s life like before Harry Potter Books were published?

    93. What do you think of failure? How do you overcome failure in your life? (Please give an example to explain)

Microsoft is testing a new software and needs your help. Just send Gates’ email message to everyone you know, and you can get your prize money. Does this sound too good to be true? This offer from Gates is a hoax (骗局). In fact, anyone with common knowledge in computers could tell whether it is true. But that hasn’t stopped the hoax from spreading across the Internet like wildfire. Millions of Internet users have sent this untrue message.
The Internet is full of hoaxes, lies and wrong information. They are passed through e-mails, discussion groups and official-looking websites. Although most of them have been made known to the public what they are, it’s still hard to kill a “good hoax”. Most Internet hoaxes are similar. They often meet the needs of basic human feelings, like fear, greed or pity for others. Most importantly, they often sound as if they could be possible.
If you’ve ever been fooled by a hoax, you are certainly not alone. Several famous newspapers have reported information they got online, only to later learn it was only a hoax. Even public official can sometimes be fooled. The city officials in California learned from a website that Styrofoam (塑料泡沫) cups are made with a dangerous chemical, so they ordered that the cups should not be produced. They felt foolish, however, when they learned that chemical’s common name—water. Another hoax caused fear in Hong Kong. A website with the name of a famous newspaper reported that the government planned to order local people to stay in their homes for the reason of an unknown disease. As a result, worried people crowd the supermarket to buy daily products. Financial markets began to fall, too.
It’s sometimes hard to know what’s real and what’s not. Use the Internet, but don’t believe everything you read online.(303 words)
    88. Can you get your prize money if you send Gates’ email message to everyone you know?

Answer the questions.(根据短文内容回答下列问题):(12分)
It was a cool spring morning back in 2009 and I had just started a morning shift as a school crossing guard. Looking out for the children, I suddenly noticed something at sideways. Behind me I first thought it was a small, overweight dog heading towards me. I didn't think much about it, and looked carefully at any approaching children, as well as enjoying the morning sun.
What is wrong with that dog? I thought later on, as I looked back to check on the small dog—it was moving much too fast for itself
A few minutes later, I felt as if I was being watched, I looked behind me, but the dog had disappeared. Then, as I slowly turned my attention back to the road, I was greatly surprised to see a large koala at my feet and staring right up at me.
A number of different solutions crossed my mind. But staying calm was the best. "Are you waiting to cross the road?" I asked the sweet koala. Miss Koala looked away, and scratched (抓挠)behind her car.
Then it got up on all four feet and impatiently started to cross the road. I quickly checked for any cars, then walked to the road with my stop sign held high, whistle (吹哨)to my lips, and held my breath.
The koala made it to the other side of the street, then continued following the path through the trees and disappeared into bushes.
So why did the koala cross at the school crossing? To safely get to the trees on the other side!
    88. Is the writer a school crossing guard or an animal protection volunteer?

    89. Where did the writer notice the little animal?

    90. What did the writer choose among the different solutions?

    91. Which word showed that koala didn't realize the danger when crossing the road?

    92. How did the writer help koala cross the road?

    93. What do you think of the koala cross at the school crossing? Why?

Answer the questions (根据以下内容回答问题)
Say the words ‘reality TV’ and the show that comes into most people’s minds is Big Brother. Love it or hate it, there have been versions(版本)in more than seventy countries! The basic format is simple: put a group of strangers into a house, record everything they do and watch how they manage to live together.
Actually the idea wasn’t original. A similar show. The Real World, was broadcast in 1992 on MTV. But the format really became popular with the success of Big Brother, and it has been copied again and again, including celebrity versions. In similar shows, contestants(参赛选手)have been sent to the jungle or a desert island. In Wife Swap a mother goes to live with a family of strangers and tries to manager their homes; in Young, Dumb and Living off Mum a group of spoilt(宠坏的)teenagers with no life skills learn to live together and look after themselves.
So what makes these shows so attractive? Actually, living with strangers is stressful and also personality problems are common. Contestants often have to share tasks and housework and this also brings conflict. “It’s all about relationships,” says TV critic(批评家)Jo Barnett. “Some characters are pleasant, and some are unpleasant, but they are all real people.”
But is it healthy to be so interested in other people’s private lives? And what kind of people want to appear in front of TV cameras twenty-four hours a day? Not everyone was in favour of such shows, including the first ever winner of Big Brother, Bart Spring. “I’m not a fan of the programme or of people becoming famous for being stupid.” he says.

    88. Big Brother is a TV show which has versions in over 70 countries, isn’t it?
